  1. Augmenting Writing Skills for Articulating Research (AWSAR) scheme was launched by Science and Technology Ministry's National Council of Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) in January 2018.
  2. It aims to encourage popular science writing through newspapers, magazines, blogs, social media etc. by young PhD Scholars and Post-Doctoral Fellows during their higher studies and research pursuits. As over 20,000 youth are awarded PhD in S&T every year in India.
  3. AWSAR carries incentive of INR 10000 each for 100 best entries from PhD scholars in a year along with a Certificate of Appreciation. In addition, 3 leading stories would also be awarded cash prize of INR 100000, 50000 and 25000 respectively.
  4. Further, 20 entries would be selected from articles submitted by Post-Doctoral Fellows relating to their line of Research for monetary incentive of 10000 each and most outstanding story to be given a cash prize of 100000.
