Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is inviting online applications for Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026, which aims to fill up 84 Group B (Non-Gazetted) posts of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator and Senior Translation Officers across various Ministries/Departments. Last date to apply online is 14-05-2026 (11 PM).

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process for the Combined Hindi Translators Examination, 2026 will be conducted in three stages: Computer Based Examination (Paper-I), Descriptive Paper (Paper-II), and Document Verification.

Computer Based Examination (Paper-I)

The first stage will be conducted in Computer Based Mode with objective type multiple choice questions. It will assess candidates' understanding of languages and literature, correct usage of words, phrases, idioms, and their ability to write effectively. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

Descriptive Paper (Paper-II)

Candidates will be shortlisted category-wise for Paper-II based on their performance in Paper-I. This paper will include translation of passages (Hindi to English and English to Hindi) and essay writing in both languages to evaluate translation skills and language proficiency.

Document Verification (DV)

Document Verification will be conducted after the final result by the respective departments. Candidates must produce original documents such as mark sheets and certificates to confirm their eligibility as per the required qualifications.

Key Selection Details

  • Shortlisting for Paper-II will be done category-wise based on Paper-I performance.
  • Final merit will be prepared based on marks in Paper-I and Paper-II along with post preferences.
  • Tentative answer keys will be released after the CBT. Candidates can review them and submit objections online within the given time by paying Rs 50 per question. After review, the final answer key will be published and used for result preparation.
  • Candidates must select three examination centres during application. The Commission may modify centres if required.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
    • UR: 30%
    • OBC/EWS: 25%
    • Other Categories: 20%

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -

  • General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 100/-
  • SC / ST / Women / Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) / Ex-Servicemen Candidates: No Fee

How to Apply :

Follow the steps below to apply for SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026.

  1. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website if not already registered.
  2. Login using registration details and proceed to fill the online application form.
  3. Fill all required details carefully including personal, educational, and other relevant information.
  4. Capture a live photograph using the device camera as per instructions (clear image, no cap, no glasses, full frontal face).
  5. Upload scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (10 KB to 20 KB) with dimensions approximately 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm.
  6. Upload other required documents as applicable (category, disability, EWS etc).
  7. Preview the application form and verify all details before final submission.
  8. Pay the application fee online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit Card, if applicable.
  9. Submit the application form on or before 14-05-2026 (11 PM).
  10. Keep a printout of the application form for future reference; no need to send it to Staff Selection Commission at this stage.
  11. If needed, corrections in the application form can be made between 19-05-2026 and 20-05-2026 by paying applicable correction charges (Rs 200 for first correction and Rs 500 for 2nd correction).
