Mode of Recruitment :
The selection process will be based on a written examination, interview, and academic assessment.
(a) Written Competitive Examination:
(i) The written exam will consist of two papers.
(ii) First Paper: The first paper will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on General Hindi, carrying a total of 100 marks. To qualify, a candidate must score a minimum of 30 marks. Each correct answer will carry 2 marks, while 0.2 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
(iii) Second Paper: The second paper will be based on General Studies, which includes topics related to current affairs, general science, civics, Indian history, Indian geography, mathematics, and mental ability. Paper will include 100 multiple-choice questions and carry a total of 300 marks. The duration of this paper will be 2 hours. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks, while 0.3 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
(iv) Based on the marks secured in the written examination, candidates will be shortlisted for the interview round.
(b) Interview:
The interview will assess the overall personality, communication skills, and suitability of the candidate for the respective post. It will carry a total of 50 marks. The final selection will be based on the combined marks obtained in the second paper of the written test and the interview.

Mode of Recruitment :
The selection process will consist of three stages: a written examination, a physical test, and an interview.
Note: The physical efficiency test will be qualifying in nature and will not carry any marks.
(a) Written Competitive Examination:
(i) Once the application forms are received, they will be thoroughly scrutinized. Candidates whose forms are found to be in order will be invited to appear in a written competitive examination, which will be conducted in two phases: the Preliminary Examination and the Main Examination. All questions in both phases will be objective and multiple-choice in nature.
(ii) First Stage - Preliminary Examination: This will consist of a single paper carrying 200 marks. It will include a total of 100 questions, to be answered within a duration of 2 hours. The questions will focus on General Knowledge and Contemporary Events. Candidates scoring less than 30 percent marks in this stage will be considered ineligible for the Main Examination. Based on the results, up to 20 times the number of available vacancies will be selected category-wise to proceed to the next stage. If an adequate number of eligible candidates are not available, this ratio may be adjusted accordingly.
(iii) Second Stage - Main Examination: Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination will be eligible to appear in the Main Examination, which will consist of two papers:
(iv) A penalty of 0.2 marks will be applied for each incorrect answer in both stages of the examination. The answer sheets will be in duplicate; one copy will be securely retained by the commission.
(v) Based on the results of the Main Examination, up to six times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted category-wise for the physical test. This ratio may be revised if the number of eligible candidates is insufficient. It is important to note that candidates need only to qualify in the physical test; no marks will be awarded for this stage.
(b) Physical Test:
Candidates selected from the Main Examination will be called to undergo a physical test as per Rule-15 of the Bihar Transport (Enforcement) Service Rules, 2003. The criteria are as follows:
Note: Candidates failing to meet the prescribed physical standards will not be considered for final appointment, regardless of their performance in the written examination.
(c) Interview:
Candidates who successfully clear both the written examination and the physical test will be invited to attend an interview. This stage is designed to evaluate the candidate’s personality, subject knowledge, awareness of current affairs, creativity, positivity, and overall suitability for a role in the Enforcement Wing of the Transport Department.
The interview will carry a maximum of 30 marks. These marks will be added to those obtained in the Main Examination to prepare the final merit list.
