Bihar Police Sub-Ordinate Service Commission (BPSSC) is inviting online applications for recruitment of 462 Assistant Sub-Inspector (Operation) vacancies in Bihar Police Radio unit on a permanent basis under Level-5 pay scale, under Advt 04/2026.

This role primarily involves managing and operating radio communication and telecommunication systems within the Bihar Police department to ensure seamless technical connectivity. The final date to submit the online application is 04-03-2026.

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will consist of Written Competitive Examinations (Preliminary and Main), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by Medical Examination & Character Verification.

Written Competitive Examination Phase 1 (Preliminary)

The first stage will be a preliminary objective examination to shortlist candidates for the main exam. Candidates will be shortlisted at a ratio of 20 times the number of vacancies based on merit and reservation categories. A minimum of 30% marks will be required to qualify for the next stage.

Written Competitive Examination Phase 2 (Main)

Successful candidates from the preliminary round will appear for the main examination, which consists of two papers. Based on the marks in the second paper, candidates will be shortlisted for the physical test at a ratio of 5 times the number of vacancies.

For both written phases, a penalty of 0.2 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The third stage will be a physical efficiency and eligibility test. This stage will be qualifying in nature, but failing to meet any of the specified criteria will result in disqualification. 3 chnaces will be given for High Jump, Long Jump and Shot put events.

  • Running: 1.6 km in maximum 7 minutes for males; 1 km in maximum 7 minutes for females.
  • High Jump: Minimum 3 feet 6 inches for males; 2 feet 6 inches for females.
  • Long Jump: Minimum 10 feet for males; 7 feet for females.
  • Shot Put: 16-pound ball to 14 feet for males; 12-pound ball to 8 feet for females.

Medical Examination and Character Verification

Candidates selected in the merit list will undergo a medical examination and character/antecedent verification by the appointing authority.

  • Verification will check for color blindness, hearing ability, flat-foot, knocking-knee, and stammering.
  • Stammering or stuttering will be a ground for disqualification.
  • Character verification will ensure the candidate has no adverse criminal record.

Upon detailed verification, final appointment list will be prepared and selected candidates will be notified accordingly.

Fee Structure :

Application fee is Rs 100 for candidates of all categories and must be paid online.

    4. If incorrect details are entered, candidates may cancel the registration using the Cancel Registration Form option. Once the application fee is paid, registration cannot be cancelled and the fee will not be refunded.

    1. Candidates must log in using the Registration Number and Password.
    2. Fill the detailed online application form including personal details, father’s or husband’s name, mother’s name, address, and educational qualifications.
    3. Uploading Photograph and Signature
      1. Upload a recent, clear, colored passport-size photograph.
      2. Photograph file size must be between 15 KB and 25 KB in .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif format.
      3. Upload scanned signature in Hindi or English.
      4. Signature file size must be between 15 KB and 25 KB in .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif format.
    4. After uploading documents, review the application carefully and use the Edit Details option if required. Confirm and submit the application on or before 04-03-2026. No changes will be allowed after final submission.
