Central Selection Board of Constables Bihar (CSBC) is inviting online applications for the permanent recruitment of 993 Constable (Operator) positions within Telecommunications and Technical units of Bihar Police. Interested candidates must submit their applications between 01-03-2026 and 31-03-2026.

Selected candidates will serve as technical personnel responsible for operating and maintaining police radio and telecommunication systems, appointed under Pay Level-3 scale.

Age Relaxation & Cut-off Date
  • Minimum age is calculated as on 01-08-2026.
  • Maximum age is calculated as on 01-08-2021 (5 years relaxation in upper age limit has been announced for this notification). Therefore, upper age limit for various categories as on 01-08-2021 is as follows:
    • UR – Up to 25 years
    • BC/EBC (Male) – Up to 27 years
    • BC/EBC (Female) – Up to 28 years
    • SC/ST & Transgender – Up to 30 years
    • The relaxation allows candidates who are 30 years of age as of today under the Unreserved category to be eligible, as they would have been under 25 years of age as on 01-08-2021. Additional relaxations as per category will be applicable accordingly.

  • Candidates from all states may apply. However, reservation benefits on caste basis are applicable only to Bihar domiciles; candidates from other states will be treated as Unreserved.
  • Required educational qualification must be completed on or before 31-03-2026. Final year / result awaited candidates are not eligible.

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process for the post of Constable (Operator) will consist of four stages: a Written Examination, a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, and Merit List Preparation.

Written Examination (First Stage)

The selection process will begin with a written examination of 100 marks, consisting of 100 objective-type questions to be completed within 2 hours. The difficulty level will be equivalent to the Intermediate (10+2) level of the Bihar School Examination Board.

Candidates must score at least 30% marks in the test to be eligible for the next stage. Based on the results, candidates totaling five times the number of advertised vacancies for each category will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test. There will be No Negative Marking.

Physical Efficiency Test (Second Stage)

The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be qualifying in nature. Candidates must successfully pass each individual event in the PET. Failure to meet the minimum standards in any event will result in disqualification. Physical standards such as height and chest measurements (as mentioned above) will also be verified during this stage.

For High Jump and Shot Put events, a maximum of 3 attempts will be given to meet the required criteria.

Document Verification (Third Stage)

Candidates who pass the Physical Efficiency Test will undergo detailed document verification. This process will typically take place on the same day as the PET or on a date specified by the Board. Candidates will be required to present all original certificates, including a valid photo ID, birth certificate (Matriculation), educational qualification certificates (10+2 Science), and relevant category or domicile certificates. No additional time or second opportunity will be provided to submit these documents.

Merit List Preparation (Fourth Stage)

The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination. In case of a tie where two or more candidates secure the same marks, the following tie-breaking criteria will be applied in order:

  • The older candidate will be placed higher in the merit order.
  • If the tie persists, candidates with higher educational qualifications will be ranked higher.
  • If the tie still remains, preference will be given to the candidate who secured higher marks in their qualifying examination.
  • If the tie is still not resolved, the position will be determined by the alphabetical order of the candidate's name in English, as mentioned in their 10th-grade certificate.

A supplementary recommendation list will be issued by the Board, which will be valid for 6 months. Prior to appointment, selected candidates will undergo a medical examination and character and antecedent verification by the appointing authority.

How to Apply :

Online application must be submitted through the prescribed official portal between 01-03-2026 and 31-03-2026 by following the steps given below.

  1. Complete the initial registration by entering your name, nationality, mobile number, email ID, state, district, reservation category, and date of birth.
  2. After successful registration, the Registration Number and Password will be sent via SMS and Email. Only one application is permitted per mobile number. The same mobile number must remain active throughout the recruitment process.
  3. If any incorrect details are entered during registration, they can be corrected only before fee payment by cancelling the registration and registering again. No edits will be allowed after payment.
  4. Login using the Registration Number and Password and fill in the detailed application form carefully, including father’s name, mother’s name, and other required information.
  5. Before final submission, verify all entries thoroughly. After final confirmation and submission, no corrections will be allowed.
  6. Upload the required documents:
    • Photograph: Recent (within last 2 months), coloured, white background, 15 KB to 25 KB, format .jpg/.jpeg/.gif.
    • Signature (Hindi and English): 15 KB to 25 KB, format .jpg/.jpeg/.gif.
