Mode of Recruitment :
The selection process will consist of a written test, followed by document verification.
Written Examination
The written examination will be conducted by the Board for recruitment to the post of Laboratory Assistant (Geography) and Laboratory Assistant / Senior Laboratory Assistant (Science). The examination for Laboratory Assistant (Geography) will be held on 09-05-2026, and the examination for all other posts will be held on 10-05-2026. If the examination is conducted in more than one phase, the marks obtained by candidates will be normalized. Admit cards will be issued online through SSO Login on the Recruitment Portal. No admit card will be sent by post.

Paper I will include questions on the geographical, historical, cultural and general knowledge of Rajasthan, current affairs of Rajasthan, general knowledge of India and the world, and educational psychology. Paper II will include questions on secondary standard science, and senior secondary standard physics, chemistry, and biology.

All questions will be of objective type and all questions will carry equal marks. The minimum qualifying marks will be 40 percent. The minimum qualifying marks will be relaxed by 5 percent for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Negative marking will be applicable and one-third of the marks prescribed for a question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Options marking
- Each question has five options (A, B, C, D, E), and only one option must be selected by darkening the correct circle.
- Answers must be marked using a blue ball point pen only.
- It is mandatory to mark one option for each question. If a question is not attempted, the circle for option “E” must be darkened; otherwise, if no circle is darkened, one-third (1/3) of the marks allotted for that question will be deducted.
- After completing the question paper, the candidate must ensure that one circle is darkened for every question; an additional 10 minutes beyond the scheduled examination time will be provided for this purpose.
- A candidate who does not darken any option in more than 10% of the total questions shall be disqualified.
Final Merit
Final merit will be formed on the basis of performance in the test. Candidates will be shortlisted for document verification based on their performance in the written examination. At this stage, they must produce original documents related to eligibility as prescribed in the notification; failure to do so or ineligibility will lead to cancellation of candidature.Fee Structure :
If not already paid, candidates must deposit the application fee online as a One Time Registration (OTR) fee through the Rajasthan Government SSO Portal. The category-wise fee structure is as follows:
- General / Creamy Layer OBC / Creamy Layer MBC: ₹600
- Non-Creamy Layer OBC / Non-Creamy Layer MBC / EWS / SC / ST: ₹400
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): ₹400
The above fee is payable as a One Time Registration (OTR) in compliance with the Rajasthan Government Directive dated 19-04-2023. Candidates may pay the fee online using their SSO ID or through an authorized e-Mitra kiosk or Common Service Centre (CSC). The OTR fee is required to be paid only once and will remain valid for all recruitments conducted by Rajasthan Government recruitment agencies, including RPSC, RSSB, and others.
How to Apply :
Applications for Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) recruitment should be submitted by following the steps outlined below.
- One Time Registration (OTR)
- Log in to the SSO Portal and complete the OTR process. Basic details such as Name, Father’s Name, Gender, and Date of Birth are auto-fetched from Aadhaar or Jan-Aadhaar.
- A live photograph is captured through the system using a 5-second timer. A white or light background should be used, and blinking the eyes 2–3 times during the countdown is required. The face must cover at least 50% of the photograph.
- Scanned copies of the signature and left-hand thumb impression (right-hand thumb only if the left is unavailable) must be uploaded in JPEG format.
- The signature should be done on white A4 paper using a black or dark blue pen within a rectangular box measuring 7 cm in width and 2 cm in height.
- Both the signature and thumb impression must be provided by the candidate only. Submissions made by any other person will lead to rejection.
- Images must be properly scanned, cropped to the specified box dimensions, and uploaded. Mobile phone photographs of these documents are not permitted.
- The signature image must be in JPEG format with dimensions between 280 × 80 pixels and 560 × 160 pixels, and file size between 20 KB and 50 KB.
- The thumb impression file size must not exceed 50 KB.
- Online Application Form
- After completion of OTR, the relevant recruitment advertisement should be selected from the dashboard.
- All required educational qualifications and category details must be entered carefully. Eligibility conditions should be verified before proceeding.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS categories from outside Rajasthan are required to apply under the General category.
- Final Submission
- All filled details should be reviewed thoroughly before completing the final submission.
- A copy of the submitted application form should be saved and printed for personal records and future reference.
- No hard copy of the application form is required to be sent to the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), Jaipur, at this stage.
- Correction and Withdrawal Rules
- After final submission, changes are not permitted in the following details:
- Candidate’s name
- Father’s name
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Photograph and signature sample
- For correction of Name, Father’s Name, Gender, or Date of Birth, details must first be updated in Aadhaar or Jan-Aadhaar and then re-fetched through the OTR screen.
- A correction window of 3 days will be provided after the application closing date on payment of a fee of 300 Rupees. An additional final correction window of 7 days will be made available one month prior to the examination.
- An application withdrawal facility will also be available through the SSO portal for a period of 3 days, scheduled one month before the examination.
