- Manipur Government launched Chief Minister-Gi Sotharabasingi Tengbang (CMST) On December 3, 2017, on occasion of International Day for Persons with Disability. It aims to provide quality of life to persons with disabilities.
- CMST has been designed with 5 sub-schemes. It includes Care-Giver allowances/Maintenance Grant of INR 1500 to PWD with over 80% disability.
- Beneficiaries will also be covered under SwavlambanHealth Insurance Scheme for PwD, where State Government will provide beneficiary contribution of INR 366 per annum, which will provide a health insurance cover of Rs. 2 lakhs to four members of a family and OPD charges.
- PWD in age group of 19-59 yrs will be provided with soft loans to take up employment opportunities and self-employment through Manipur Society for Skill Development (MSSD).
- CMST also includes a Scholarship scheme to students with Disabilities. Rate of annual scholarships - 3000 for Class I-V, 4000 for Class VI-VIII, 6000 for Class IX-XII and 8000 for Graduate & Above.
- Under CMST, free travel and concession to PWD are given for free travelling in public transport under Manipur State Transport (MST).
- CMST also includes maintenance grant for homeless older persons with monetary support of Rs. 1,000 per month to persons of over 60 years age.
