South Central Railway has invited applications from candidates residing under its jurisdiction, for contractual apprenticeship training for 2801 posts for one year, with the last date to apply being 11-04-2026. These apprentice posts are offered in trades such as Electrician, Fitter, COPA, Welder, AC Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic and others, for training across 66 units under South Central Railway.
This apprenticeship offers practical training in various railway trades, helping candidates build technical skills and work experience. Candidates who complete the Act Apprenticeship may receive preference in future Railway CEN recruitments for Level-1 posts under the CCAA quota (up to 20% of vacancies), as per applicable rules.

Mode of Recruitment :
Selection process will consist of preparation of a merit list based on marks obtained in 10th Class and ITI, followed by Document Verification and Medical Fitness verification.
The merit list will be prepared by calculating the average of the percentage marks obtained in both the 10th Class/Matriculation examination (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and the ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both. In case two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be given preference. If the dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the Matriculation/10th Class examination earlier will be considered.
There will be no written test or interview. Shortlisted candidates will need to pass through detailed document verification before joining.
Fee Structure :
Application fee is Rs 100, to be paid online after completing the application form. Candidates will need to enter their registered email ID, phone number and application number on the payment page to proceed with the payment. After successful payment, an e-receipt will be generated which should be printed and kept for future reference.
No application fee is required to be paid for SC / ST/ Female / Transgender and PwBD candidates.
How to Apply :
Candidates need to submit the online application through the South Central Railway Apprentice portal. The process mainly includes registration, filling details, uploading documents, and final submission. The steps are grouped below for clarity.

Preparation before applying
- The candidate should belong to the states or districts mentioned in the eligibility conditions and must upload valid proof of residence during registration.
- A valid Aadhaar number should be kept ready. The 12-digit Aadhaar number must be entered during registration. If the Aadhaar Card has not yet been received, the 28-digit Aadhaar Enrolment ID printed on the Aadhaar Enrolment Slip may be entered.
- A valid personal e-mail ID and mobile number should be available. These must remain active until completion of the engagement process to receive alerts and communications.
- RDAT (Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training) registration requirement
- RDAT registration must be completed on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme portal.
- The account must be activated through the link sent to e-mail for verification, followed by login and completion of the profile to 100%.
- The generated Registration Number must be entered while filling the application.

Filling the application form
- Open the South Central Railway Apprentice portal. Enter the required registration details and create a password to enable future logins.
- Verify the OTPs sent separately to the registered mobile number and e-mail ID.
- Personal details such as candidate name, fatherβs name, date of birth, community, and educational / technical qualification details should be entered.
- Priority or preference for the Railway Establishments of South Central Railway for training must be selected. The options selected will be treated as final, and requests for modification will not be entertained.

Uploading photograph, signature and documents
- A recent colour photograph must be uploaded. The photograph should show a clear front view without cap or sunglasses, should not be older than three months from the date of application, must be in JPEG format at 100 DPI, and the file size must not exceed 1 MB.
- A specimen signature image should be uploaded with a maximum file size of 1 MB.
- Required certificates and the RDAT registration form mentioning the registration number must be uploaded in PDF format with a maximum file size of 2 MB.
- Other docs required to be uploaded -
- SSC / 10th Class or equivalent marks sheet.
- Proof of Date of Birth.
- Consolidated marks sheet of all semesters of the applied ITI trade or Provisional National Trade Certificate showing marks.
- National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT / SCVT.
- RDAT registration form mentioning the registration number.
- Community Certificate β SC/ST as per Annexure-B; OBC as per Annexure-C along with Non-Creamy Layer self-declaration (Annexure-D), if applicable.
- Disability Certificate for PwBD candidates (minimum 40% disability) as per Annexure-G / H, if applicable.
- EWS Certificate as per Annexure-E, if applicable.
- Medical Certificate issued by a government-authorized doctor (Gazetted), not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon, as per Annexure-F.
- Discharge Certificate or Serving Certificate for candidates applying under the Ex-Servicemen quota.
- Notably, Original documents must be produced at the time of Document Verification.

Final submission
- After uploading all details and documents, the application should be checked carefully using the Preview option.
- Click the Submit button for final submission of the application.
- If applicable, the system will redirect to the payment gateway to complete the fee payment.
- After submission, the application form will be displayed. A copy may be downloaded or printed for future reference. The printout does not need to be sent to South Central Railway.
- If the application is not completed in one session, login can be done later using the βExisting User Loginβ option to complete the process.
- Once the application is submitted, no correction or modification will be allowed. All details and uploaded certificates should therefore be checked carefully before final submission.
- The Registration Number should be preserved for future correspondence.
