RRB Recruitment 2026 Junior Translator, Lab Assistant and Various Isolated Categories (08/2025) 312 Posts Online Application
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) are inviting online applications for 312 vacancies for various Isolated Category posts across different Zonal Railways, under CEN 08/2025. The last date for submission of online applications is 29-01-2026. Candidates are advised to carefully verify their eligibility and compliance with all conditions before applying.
The notified posts include roles such as translators, inspectors, assistants, supervisors, and legal positions, involving administrative duties, technical support, inspection work, laboratory assistance, training-related tasks, and statutory or welfare functions as per the assigned post and department.

Mode of Recruitment :
The recruitment process will involve a Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by a Translation Test (as applicable), Document Verification, and Medical Examination.Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
The selection will begin with a Computer Based Test which will be of objective multiple-choice type. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers, with a deduction of 1/3rd of the marks for each wrong response. The duration and structure of the CBT will be as follows:

Questions for CBT will be available in English, Hindi and 13 regional Indian languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu). Language has to be chosen at the time of registration, and can not be changed later.
Translation Test (TT)
Candidates for the post of Junior Translator (Hindi) will have to undergo a Translation Test after qualifying the CBT. Shortlisting for this stage will be done to the extent of 10 times the vacancies based on merit in the CBT.
Document Verification (DV)
Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification based on their merit in the CBT (and Translation Test, wherever applicable). During this stage, RRBs will verify the information provided in the online application against the original supporting documents.
Medical Examination
Candidates who successfully complete the Document Verification will be sent for a Medical Fitness Test conducted by the Railway Administration. This test will ensure that candidates are medically fit to perform the duties required for their opted posts.
Fee Structure :
Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -
- For SC, ST, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Ex-Servicemen, Minority Communities and Economically Backward Class candidates: Rs. 250 (this amount will be refunded after appearing in the Computer Based Test).
- Others : Rs. 500 (out of which Rs. 400 will be refunded after appearing in the Computer Based Test).
How to Apply :
Candidates can apply online by following the step-by-step process given below. Applicants are advised to complete all steps carefully and ensure eligibility before final submission.
- Candidates will apply only through online mode by creating an account using a valid and active mobile number and email ID. These details must remain active throughout the recruitment process.
- If an account was already created for earlier Railway Recruitment Board notifications, the same login credentials will be used. New candidates will create a fresh account.
- Note - Candidates are advised to authenticate their identity using DigiLocker or Aadhaar during the Account Creation process. Applicants who choose to verify their identity through alternate Photo IDs, will be subject to significantly stricter and more detailed scrutiny at every stage of recruitment.
- After login, candidates will -
- Choose Medium of Examination, among English, Hindi and 13 regional Indian languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu). No change shall be allowed in the language option once selected at the application stage.
- Choose Order of Zone Preferences.
- Note - Multiple applications to different RRBs or same RRB, will lead to rejection.
- Fill personal details, educational qualifications, category details, and other required information exactly as per original documents.
- After submission of application, candidate will be directed to opt for the mode of payment of examination fee. Choose the mode and pay fee accordingly to category.
- A live photograph of the candidate will be captured during the application process, using a web cam or by front camera of the mobile phone. Dressing in non-white clothing in advised, to maintain contrast with the Background.
- Mandatory scanned documents to be uploaded during the on-line application include -
- Scanned signature, done with black ink on white paper, in JPG/JPEG format, size 30 KB to 49 KB, minimum dimensions 140 x 60 pixels, scanned at at least 100 DPI, and properly centered within a 35 mm x 20 mm box.
- SC/ST Certificate (For Candidates Requesting Free Train Travel Pass) in PDF format (under 400 KB).
- Also, Candidates with benchmark disabilities in the categories of Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arms Affected - BA), and Cerebral Palsy may opt for assistance of a scribe (from among already registered scribes on the portal), if desired by the candidate.
- Before final submission, candidates will review all entered details carefully, as incorrect or false information may lead to rejection at any stage of recruitment. After submitting the complete online application and successfully paying the requisite fee, candidates who wish to modify any details (except the details filled in the Account Creation form and chosen RRB) may do so by paying a non-refundable modification fee of Rs 250 per modification. Application modification facility will be available from 01-02-2026 to 10-02-2026.
- After final submission, candidates are not required to send any printed copy of the application form or documents to Railway Recruitment Boards at this stage.
- Candidates may download and keep a copy of the submitted application form for their own record and future reference.
