Indian Railway Finance Corporation Limited (IRFC) has invited online applications for a total of 23 permanent posts, including 16 Assistants and 7 Assistant Managers (Finance). The last date to apply is 01-05-2026.

The Assistant (NE5 Level) role involves supporting financial and accounting operations, documentation, and coordination related to railway infrastructure financing projects. Age Conditions
  • Age reference dates for unreserved category candidates: 02-01-1996 to 01-01-2008 (candidates born between these dates are eligible).
  • Upper age limit relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years

    • PwBD: 10 years (UR), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)

Service Bond -
  • Assistant: A service bond of ₹2 lakh is required to be executed to serve IRFC for a minimum period of 2 years.
  • Assistant Manager (Finance): A service bond of ₹3 lakh is required to be executed to serve IRFC for a minimum period of 2 years.
  • Selected candidates for both posts will be on probation for 1 year from the date of joining. The probation period may be curtailed or extended based on individual performance.
Other Eligibility Conditions
  • Final year / awaiting result candidates are not eligible to apply. The required qualification must be completed as on the last date of online application (01-05-2026).
  • Candidates from all states can apply.
  • Candidates can apply for both posts if eligible. However, separate application forms and fees must be submitted for both posts.

Mode of Recruitment :

Selection process will consist of a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by document verification and a detailed medical examination for Assistant posts. For the post of Assistant Manager (Finance), an interview will also be conducted.

Computer Based Test (CBT)

There will be a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT) comprising 2 parts. The test will consist of 100 multiple-choice objective-type questions of 01 mark each. Exam duration will be 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates with a scribe). There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks deduction for each wrong answer. The question paper will be set in English and Hindi.

The minimum qualifying marks for different categories will be as follows:

  • UR/EWS - 40%
  • SC/OBC-NCL - 30%

Notes about CBT
  • CBT will be held in Delhi/NCR, Kolkata, Mumbai & Chennai. Applicants will indicate their order of preference for three (03) exam cities while filling the application form.
  • A percentile-based normalization process will be followed in case the CBT is held in more than one shift for the same post.
  • Tie-breaking in case of the same marks in CBT will be done on the basis of age (older candidates will be called first), followed by alphabetical order of names if the tie still remains.
  • Provisional answer keys will be released after CBT, enabling submission of objections within 3 days by paying ₹100 per question. Valid objections will get a refund of the objection fee.

Interview (For Assistant Manager (Finance) Post only)

For the post of Assistant Manager (Finance), candidates up to 3 times the number of vacancies will be called for interview based on merit in CBT. Final merit will be prepared by giving weightage of 80% to CBT marks and 20% to interview marks. Note that there will be no interview for Assistant posts.

Document Verification (DV)

Based on merit in CBT, the number of candidates called for document verification for the post of Assistant will be equal to the number of vacancies. For the post of Assistant Manager (Finance), the number of candidates called for document verification and interview will be 3 times the number of vacancies. No standby list/panel will be maintained.

It means that approximately 16 candidates will be called for DV for Assistant posts, whereas 21 candidates will be called for DV for Assistant Manager (Finance) posts. Detailed verification of eligibility, documents, certificates, age, and educational qualifications will be done at the time of document verification. Candidates must ensure bringing all original documents during document verification to avoid any issues and must abide by the instructions mentioned in the call letter. Before final appointment, a detailed medical examination will also be conducted.

Final Merit

  • Assistant Post – Final merit will be on the basis of CBT marks only.
  • Assistant Manager (Finance) – Final merit will be prepared by giving weightage of 80% to CBT marks and 20% to interview marks.

    • Left Thumb Impression: On white paper using black/blue ink, clear and not smudged, size 80kb–150kb, in jpg/jpeg format.
    • Certificates: Qualification, caste/EWS/disability certificates, etc., clearly visible, size 100kb–1000kb, in jpg/jpeg/PDF format.
  2. Registration:
    • Complete registration on the portal by entering post applied for, name, mobile number, and email ID.
    • Verify details using OTP and captcha, then confirm registration.
    • Login ID and password will be sent to the registered mobile number/email ID.
  3. Application Filling & Submission:
    • Login and fill in personal, educational, and category details carefully.
    • Upload photograph, signature, thumb impression, and certificates as per the given specifications.
    • Preview the application and make corrections, if required, before final submission.
    • After final submission, no changes will be allowed.
    • Pay the application fee (if applicable) through online mode. Upon successful payment, the application will be submitted.
    • Download and keep a copy for future reference during document verification (if called for). There is no need to send it to Indian Railway Finance Corporation Limited at this stage.
