Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) is inviting online applications for recruitment to a total of 40 posts (26 Assistant Environmental Engineers and 14 Assistant Scientific Officers). Last date to apply is 28-03-2026 (up to 06:00 PM), and candidates are advised to ensure they meet all eligibility conditions before submitting the application.

Pay Matrix Level-10 (₹56,100 - ₹1,77,500)

Initial salary including all allowances will be approximately ₹90,000 per month.

Doctorate (PhD) in Chemistry / Zoology / Botany / Biochemistry OR equivalent qualification recognized by the Government with 3 years of experience in Environment / Pollution Control / Public Health.

OR

Master’s degree in Chemistry / Zoology / Botany / Biochemistry with 5 years of experience in Environment / Pollution Control / Public Health.
Age Conditions
  • Age reference date:
    • Unreserved category candidates must be born between 02-07-1985 and 01-07-2004 (both dates inclusive).
  • Upper age relaxation:
    • SC / ST / OBC (UP Domicile): 5 years
    • Skilled sportspersons (UP): 5 years
    • UP State Government employees: 5 years
    • Ex-servicemen: 3 years + service period (maximum up to 15 years)
    • PwD: 15 years
Post Nature
  • Posts are temporary but likely to become permanent. No fixed tenure has been mentioned, and posts are offered under Pay Level-10 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
Other Eligibility Conditions
  • Candidates from all states may apply. However, reservation benefits are applicable only for Uttar Pradesh domicile candidates.
  • Candidates must possess the required qualification as on 28-02-2026.
  • Candidates can apply for both posts if eligible. However, separate applications and fees must be submitted.

Mode of Recruitment :

Selection process will consist of Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by Interview.

Stage I - Computer Based Test (CBT) (400 Marks)

For the post of Assistant Environmental Engineer

  • Each question will carry 4 marks.
  • 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
  • Question paper will be available in English & Hindi.

Stage II - Interview

A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Computer Based Test (CBT), subject to minimum qualifying marks to be decided later by UPPCB. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews. The interview will carry 70 marks.

Final Selection

Selection will be based on the marks obtained by the applicants out of a total of 470 marks (400 for CBT and 70 for Interview).

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -

  • Unreserved / OBC : ₹2000
  • SC/ ST: ₹1000
  • Persons with Disabilities: Exempted
