TRAI Recruitment 2026 Technical Officer (Through GATE) 6 Posts Online Application
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is inviting applications for permanent positions to fill a total of 6 posts of Technical Officers. Interested candidates must ensure that they meet all eligibility and compliance requirements before applying. The last date for submission of online applications is 04-01-2026.
The posts are for Technical Officer roles, where selected candidates will be responsible for technical analysis, regulatory support, and domain-specific functions related to telecommunications, information technology, and data-driven systems, as assigned by the authority.

Mode of Recruitment :
The selection process will consist of screening based on GATE scores, document verification, personal interview, and preparation of final merit list.
Stage 1: Screening and Shortlisting
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of valid GATE 2023, GATE 2024, or GATE 2025 scores. Only scores of these years will be considered, and equal weightage will be given to all three GATE scores. Shortlisting will be done discipline-wise and category-wise in the ratio of 1:8 based on merit.
Stage 2: Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. Candidates will be required to produce original certificates along with self-attested photocopies of documents related to age, qualification, GATE score, category, and other eligibility conditions.
Stage 3: Personal Interview
Candidates found eligible after document verification will be called for personal interview. Interviews will be conducted in English or Hindi. Final selection will depend on performance in the personal interview along with GATE score.

Stage 4: Final Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of combined marks obtained from GATE score and personal interview. Discipline-wise and category-wise merit lists will be prepared. Appointment will be subject to verification of eligibility, medical fitness, and fulfillment of all prescribed conditions.

How to Apply :
- Applicants will initiate by completing the registration by providing basic details to generate a unique login ID and password.
- Using the generated login credentials, candidates will log in and fill out the detailed application form by entering personal information, educational qualifications, and valid GATE score details of GATE 2023, GATE 2024, or GATE 2025.
- Candidates will upload a recent scanned color passport size photograph (under 3 months old) in JPG or JPEG format, with file size between 20 KB and 50 KB, as per the prescribed specifications.
- A scanned signature will be uploaded in JPG or JPEG format with a file size ranging from 10 KB to 20 KB.
- Applicants will upload scanned copies of required documents including proof of Date of Birth, educational qualification certificates, GATE scorecard, and category certificate (if applicable). All documents will be uploaded in PDF format, with each file not exceeding 500 KB.
- Candidates belonging to General, OBC, and EWS categories will pay an application fee of Rs. 100 through online modes such as Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card. SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates will be exempted from payment of application fee.
- Before final submission, candidates will carefully review all the details entered in the application form, as no correction will be permitted after final submission.
- After successful submission, candidates can download and keep a printout of the submitted application form for future reference and for use at the interview stage.
- Candidates need not send any hard copy or printed application form to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India at this stage.
- The registered email ID and mobile number must remain active until completion of the recruitment process to receive important updates and communication.
