Coal India Limited’s subsidiary South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has invited applications for contract-based Graduate and Technician Apprenticeship training in opencast and underground mines across its establishments, with a total of 1600 vacancies. Interested candidates must apply on or before 31-03-2026. Candidates from Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh will be given preference in the formation of the merit list.

These apprenticeship positions involve practical training and skill development in mining operations and related engineering/general disciplines, providing hands-on exposure to real work environments in both surface and underground mining setups. Other Eligibility Conditions A candidate can apply for only one apprenticeship category. Candidate must be minimum 18 years of age. Candidate should have registered on NATS 2.0 portal of Board of Apprenticeship Training (Western Region). Candidate should not have passed the qualifying Degree/Diploma more than 05 years before the date of joining. Candidate should not have undergone apprenticeship training in any other institution earlier. Candidate should not have completed one year or more of work experience in any establishment. Candidate should not be pursuing or completed Postgraduate qualification. Selection & Posting Conditions Contract-based apprenticeship training for 01 year. Two merit lists will be prepared – Level 1 (for Chhattisgarh & Madhya Pradesh candidates) and Level 2 (for other states). Level 2 candidates will be considered only after exhausting Level 1 candidates. Preference in Level 2 will be given to candidates from Western Region of BOAT. Mining / Mine Surveying apprentices will be posted only in underground mines. Other engineering apprentices will be posted in opencast mines, underground mines, workshops and establishments. Mode of Recruitment :

Selection will be based mainly on marks obtained in the relevant qualifying degree/diploma. In case of a tie, preference will be given to candidates with earlier passing dates. The tie-breaking criteria will be applied in three stages: first, marks in the degree/diploma; second, marks in 12th/10th; and finally, date of birth. Separate merit lists will be prepared, initially for candidates belonging to Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, followed by candidates from other states after exhaustion of the first merit list.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification from 20-04-2026 onwards. They must carry all original documents along with self-attested copies, including educational certificates, caste certificate (OBC non-creamy layer issued on or after 01-04-2025), domicile certificate (for MP & Chhattisgarh candidates), Aadhaar card, and bank account details. Candidates are also required to bring passport-size photographs and a notarized affidavit in the prescribed format. Final selection will be subject to successful document verification, followed by a medical examination.

Fee Structure :

No Application fee is to be paid for these apprentices posts in SECL.

How to Apply :

The application process involves registration on both the NATS 2.0 portal and the SECL official website. Candidates are required to follow the steps given below to complete the application properly:

Register on the NATS 2.0 portal (https://nats.education.gov.in/) under the Board of Apprenticeship Training (Western Region).
After successful registration on NATS Portal, visit the official portal provied by South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) for apprenticehsip registrayion. Complete registration/login using a valid email ID.
Fill the application form carefully, as no changes or corrections will be allowed after submission.
Submit the application on or before 31-03-2026 (12:00 Midnight).
