Orissa HC Recruitment 2025 Junior Stenographer 25 Posts Online Application

Orissa High Court is inviting online applications for 25 permanent posts of Junior Stenographer. Applications should be submitted before 09-10-2025 after ensuring eligibility requirements are met.

Mode of Recruitment :

The recruitment examination for the post of Junior Stenographer consists of three important stages: a Qualifying Test in the English subject, a Computer Application Test, and a Skill Test. These stages are designed to assess the candidate's language proficiency, computer knowledge, and stenography skills effectively.

The first stage is the Qualifying Test in the English subject. It carries a total of 100 marks and has a duration of one and a half hours. The test includes an essay in English, translation of a passage from Odia to English, re-translation from English to Odia, and knowledge of English grammar. Each section is carefully designed to evaluate the language capabilities of the candidate.

The second stage is the Computer Application Test, which is qualifying in nature. It carries a total of 100 marks, divided into two sections: Theory and Skill Test. Each part holds 50 marks and lasts for 30 minutes. Candidates must secure at least 50 percent marks to qualify.

The third and final stage is the Skill Test. It involves shorthand dictation of 400 words at a speed of 80 words per minute, followed by transcription on a computer at 40 words per minute. Each correct word earns 0.25 marks, while mistakes beyond ten percent of total words result in disqualification. The test is conducted for 100 marks, with five minutes allotted for shorthand dictation and ten minutes for transcription.

Fee Structure :

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Persons with Disabilities are exempted from payment of examination fee.
