North 24 Parganas District Court is inviting eligible candidates to apply online for 19 posts of English Stenographer. Interested and eligible candidates may apply online on or before 02-03-2025 , after making sure that they meet the concerned eligibility criteria.

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will be conducted in three phases as detailed :

Phase-I

Maximum marks: 40

This phase will consist of a written examination featuring a theoretical-type paper on General English.

Time allotted: 45 minutes

Phase-II

Maximum marks: 40

This phase will involve a shorthand test where candidates will be required to transcribe dictated text. The test will be conducted as :

• Shorthand dictation at a speed of 100 words per minute for a duration of 5 minutes.
• Immediately after dictation, candidates must transcribe the text directly on a computer at a speed of 30 words per minute for 15 minutes.
• An additional 10 minutes will be provided right after dictation to allow candidates to review and verify their outlines before transcription begins.

Time allotted: 30 minutes

Note: Phase-I and Phase-II examinations will be conducted on the same day in a single sitting.

Phase-III

Maximum marks: 20

Based on the marks obtained in Phase-I and Phase-II, candidates who secure the qualifying marks in each phase will be shortlisted for the Personality Test.

Fee Structure :

Application fee of Rs 1000/- (Rs 500/- for S.C./S.T./EWS of West Bengal candidates only) is to be paid online using debit card, credit card or net banking.
