Project Name	VAPB at membrane contact sites: ALS-FTD at the crossroads of ER stress, proteostasis, lipid homeostasis and inflammation.
Project Description	This project focuses on the molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases. It aims to achieve a deeper understanding of VAPB at membrane contact sites and its role in ALS-FTD. The research explores how these connections influence ER stress, protein balance, lipid regulation, and cellular inflammation. This project is funded by the DBT and is based at NCCS Pune.

Qualification	Essential: Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent. Desirable: Experience in model system biology (Fly, Worm etc) or some background in computation, programming, or bioinformatics.
Monthly Salary	i. Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. ii. Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.
