Karnataka HC Recruitment 2026 Civil Judge 158 Posts Online Application
Karnataka High Court (Karnataka HC) is inviting eligible candidates to apply online for 158 permanent posts of Civil Judge. Candidates who are interested in the position and satisfy the qualifications can submit an online application on or by 12-03-2025. It is important to provide every piece of information about the individual, including their background and schooling.

Mode of Recruitment :
The competitive examination for the recruitment of Civil Judges will consist of three stages:
- (a) Preliminary Examination
- (b) Main Written Examination
- (c) Viva-voce
The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will be considered only for determining eligibility for the Main Written Examination.
Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Examination will be an objective-type test carrying a total of 100 marks.
Main Written Examination
The Main Written Examination will consist of the these papers:
- Translation Paper (Maximum Marks: 100)
Candidates will be required to translate passages from English to Kannada and Kannada to English. The passages will be selected from:- Depositions
- Judgments
- Documents
- Law Paper - I (Maximum Marks: 100)
This paper will cover the these subjects:- The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908
- The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023
- The Indian Evidence Act, 1872 and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023
- Principles of Pleading
- The Constitution of India
- Law Paper - II (Maximum Marks: 100)
This paper will focus on framing issues and writing judgments in civil cases. - Law Paper - III (Maximum Marks: 100)
This paper will focus on framing charges and writing judgments in criminal cases.
Viva-voce (Maximum Marks: 100)
The Viva-voce will assess the candidate’s general knowledge, understanding of legal principles, and overall suitability for appointment as a Civil Judge.
Fee Structure :
Preliminary Examination Fee
Application fee is Rs 500/- for SC/ST/ Category-I/ Persons with Benchmark Disability category and Rs 1000/- for other candidates. Fees should be paid online using debit card, credit card or net banking.
Main Written Examination fee
Application fees is Rs 750/- for SC/ST/ Category-I/ Persons with Benchmark Disability category and Rs 1500/- for other candidates.
How to Apply :
