Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will consist of a Written Examination followed by Document Verification.

Written Examination

Written Examination will be conducted in objective type multiple choice question format. The question paper will be set in English language only. There will be negative marking, and one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer. The examination date and examination centres will be notified separately by the Board.

Document Verification

Candidates who will be shortlisted on the basis of merit obtained in the Written Examination will be called for Document Verification. At this stage, candidates will be required to produce original documents along with self-attested copies to verify age, educational qualification, domicile status, category status, and other eligibility conditions. Final Merit List will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in the Written Examination, subject to successful Document Verification.

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -

• General / Open Merit category candidates: Rs. 600
• SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS and PwBD category candidates: Rs. 500

How to Apply :

Application for the advertised posts is to be submitted online by following the steps given below.

1. Candidates will register on JKSSB portal using a valid email ID and mobile number and complete OTP based account verification.
2. After registration, candidates will complete the One Time Registration form and apply through the active advertisement section.
3. Candidates will fill all required personal, educational and category related details carefully before proceeding further.
4. Documents will be uploaded in the prescribed format as given below:
   • Recent passport size photograph with white background, size between 20 KB to 50 KB, dimensions 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm
   • Clear signature of the candidate, size between 10 KB to 20 KB, dimensions 1.5 cm x 3.5 cm
   • Valid category certificate, if applicable, to be uploaded in PDF format with maximum size of 100 KB

7. The application will be treated as complete only after successful payment and confirmation of fee status as submitted.

For candidates belonging to the Gorkha Community or Bot Tribe, the minimum Height shall be relaxable by 2".

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Candidates who meet the physical standards will be required to undergo the physical endurance test, which will be of qualifying nature.

Ex-Servicemen candidates will be required to qualify the Physical Endurance Test as per the following relaxed standards:

Medical Examination

Selected candidates will be medically examined to assess their physical and medical fitness.

Document Verification (DV)

Candidates who are shortlisted will be required to appear for Document Verification along with original documents and self-attested copies. They must be in possession of the prescribed academic qualifications and other documents (like Domicile and Category certificates) which are legally valid on or before the cut-off date.

Final Selection List

The Board will issue a final selection list after completing the Document Verification (DV) and ensuring all eligibility criteria are met.

• NCC “A” Certificate holders will be awarded bonus marks equal to 2 percent of the maximum marks of the written examination.

Stage 2: Physical Standard Test (PST)

Candidates will be shortlisted for the Physical Standard Test on the basis of merit in the written examination. The number of candidates called for this stage will be six times the total number of vacancies in each category. The Physical Standard Test will be qualifying in nature.

Stage 3: Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Candidates who qualify the Physical Standard Test will appear in the Physical Endurance Test. This stage will also be qualifying in nature.

Final Merit

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination, including applicable NCC bonus marks. The Physical Standard Test and Physical Endurance Test will be qualifying in nature and will not carry any marks for merit calculation.

Candidates selected against available vacancies as per the final merit will be required to undergo a Medical Examination to assess their physical and medical fitness. Only those candidates who are declared medically fit will be considered for final appointment.
