Project Description

Project 1 : This project focuses on the advancement of rare earth element processing. It aims to achieve an efficient way to separate neodymium from praseodymium using specialized ionic liquids. This study is conducted at CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar. The research explores chemical methods to improve the purity of critical metals used in magnets and electronics. This research is funded by ANRF, Government of India.

Project 2 : This project focuses on the advancement of quantum materials and nanotechnology. It aims to achieve the creation of nitrogen-vacancy color centers in nanodiamonds using a microplasma technique. This research explores how atmospheric pressure microplasma can modify diamond structures at CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar. This research is funded by ANRF, Government of India.

CSIR’s Bhubaneswar-based unit, Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), is inviting online applications from eligible candidates for 7 permanent posts of Multi-Tasking Staff. Interested applicants must submit their online applications by 21-04-2026, and are advised to ensure they meet all eligibility criteria before applying.

Selected candidates will be responsible for routine office support functions, including maintenance of records, photocopying, dispatch of documents, and general upkeep of office equipment and departments. Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will be based on an OMR-based or Computer-Based objective type multiple choice exam. The question paper will be of Class X standard. Questions will be available in English, Hindi, and Odia, except for the English Language section. The total duration of the examination will be 2 hours. Each correct answer will carry 3 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
