CSL 64 Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 - Complete Details

Miniratna PSU Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) is inviting online applications for permanent Executive Trainee posts across multiple disciplines, with a total of 64 vacancies available. The last date to submit the online application is 20-02-2026. Applicants must carefully verify eligibility and compliance requirements before applying.

These Executive Trainee roles involve professional training and responsibilities in core technical and management streams such as Engineering, Finance, and Human Resource functions within CSL units and project locations. Selected candidates will undergo one year of training followed by an appointment as Assistant Manager, where they will contribute to hazardous ship repair and shipbuilding operations across various national and international project sites.

Age Relaxation:
  • Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC (NCL) and 5 years for SC/ST candidates for reserved posts.
Post Category & Salary Details:
  • These are Permanent posts.
  • Selected candidates undergo 1 year of training with a stipend of 50000/- per month.
  • On successful completion, trainees are appointed as Assistant Managers (E-1 Grade) in the pay scale of 40000-3%-140000.
  • Total monthly emoluments after training (at Kochi) are approximately 82720/-, with an annual CTC of 14.92 lakhs.
Notes:
  • Candidates from all states may apply.
  • Applicants can apply for only one post.
  • Posting shall be at CSL, Kochi/ Mumbai/ Kolkata/ Andaman & Nicobar Islands units.
  • Selected candidates will be required to execute a Service Agreement to serve CSL for at least 3 years after training.
  • Final year or result-awaited candidates are not eligible. Qualification must be completed before last date.

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will have two phases - Phase I (Objective Type Online Test) and Phase II (Group Discussion, Writing Skills and Personal Interview).

Phase I - Objective Type Online Test (60 marks)

Online test will be of 60 minutes duration and will consist of 60 Multiple Choice Questions. Each question will carry one mark and there will be no negative marks.

Phase I test will be held at various test centres in Kerala as decided by CSL. Applicants will have the option to choose test centres while completing the online application.

Minimum passing marks :

  • For unreserved posts and for EWS candidates: 50% of total marks of each test.
  • For OBC candidates: 45% of total marks of each test.
  • For SC/ST candidates: 40% of total marks of each test.
  • For PwBD candidates (for Executive Trainee - Human Resource & Finance): 40% of total marks of each test.

Candidates who score minimum pass marks will be shortlisted for certificate verification. CSL will call sufficient number of candidates for verification so as to get candidates in minimum ratio of 6 candidates against one post in order of merit/reservation. Candidates who complete certificate verification will be allowed to attend the Phase II test.

Phase II - Group Discussion, Writing Skills and Personal Interview (40 marks)

Candidates shortlisted from Phase I will appear for Phase II, which aims to assess their communication abilities, subject knowledge, and overall suitability for the role. Phase II test will be held at CSL, Kochi.

Merit Peparation

Marks will be assigned for preparing the final rank list as per the following parameters:

In case more than one candidate secure the same aggregate marks, marks scored in the discipline part of the objective type test will be the basis of determining the order of rank list. In case of a tie thereafter, relative merit will be decided based on seniority in age.

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -

  • General / OBC / EWS Candidates: Rs 1000 (bank charges extra)
  • Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / PwBD Candidates: Nil (Exempted)

How to Apply :

Applicants must apply online through the CSL recruitment portal by completing the registration and final submission of the application. The application process is as follows:

  1. Complete the application in two stages: Registration, followed by final submission of the application. A candidate may apply for only one post.
  2. Fill in all details carefully and ensure the online application is correctly completed before final submission. No correction will be allowed after final submission.
  3. Upload copies of certificates/mark sheets as proof of relevant educational qualifications, along with certificates for age, caste, disability, and experience, as per the guidelines.
  4. Ensure that the application is complete in all respects as per the notification, as incomplete applications will not be considered.
  5. Retain a soft copy or printout of the submitted online application containing the unique registration number for future reference.
  6. No printed application or certificates are required to be sent to Cochin Shipyard Limited at this stage. However, applicants should keep a copy for their own record.
