CIMAP Recruitment 2026 Junior Hindi Translator 1 Post Online Application

Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP) is looking for a individual to join as a Junior Hindi Translator on a permanent basis.

Junior Hindi Translator is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the Official Language Policy of the Government of India. The role includes translation of official correspondence, Scientific literature, and documents between English and Hindi, preparation and submission of reports, and carrying out other duties assigned by higher authorities.

Junior Hindi Translator 1 maximum 30 years Master's degree in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as compulsory/elective subject or medium at degree level. OR
Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi/English, with Hindi or English as medium and the other language as compulsory/elective subject at degree level. OR
Master's degree in any subject other than Hindi/English, with both Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects or as medium of examination.
Recognized Diploma/Certificate course in translation (Hindi to English & vice-versa) OR two years' experience of translation work in Central/State Government offices or GOI undertakings.
Pay Level-6 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (₹35,400 - ₹1,12,400)

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process consists of a competitive written examination organized into two distinct papers. Initially, all candidates will appear for Paper-I, which serves as a qualifying round; evaluation of Paper-II is restricted to those who meet the minimum score threshold in the first paper. Ultimately, the final merit list and selection decision will be based solely on the marks achieved in Paper-II, emphasizing the candidate's descriptive writing and translation proficiency.

Paper-II (Time Allotted: 2 Hours)

Paper-II is designed to evaluate the writing and translation abilities required for this role. The paper includes paragraph writing in both English and Hindi, précis writing in English and Hindi, and translation from English to Hindi as well as from Hindi to English. The examination carries a total of 300 marks and the duration of the paper is two hours.

Fee Structure :

The application fee is ₹500 and is non-refundable. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, Women, CSIR Employees, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from paying the fee.

Payment must be made online only through the link provided in the application portal. Demand Draft, Challan, or Postal Order will not be accepted.

How to Apply :

Qualified candidates are required to complete a two-step application process: an online registration followed by the submission of a physical hard copy. The online portion must be finalized by 20-02-2026, and the printed package, including all supporting certifications, must reach the CIMAP office in Lucknow no later than 06-03-2026.

  1. Access the official recruitment portal starting from 30-01-2026.
  2. Register and fill out the online application with accurate personal and educational data matching your certificates.
  3. Upload a digital scan of your photograph (under 200 KB) and signature (under 50 KB) in the prescribed format.
  4. Pay the ₹500 application fee online, unless you belong to an exempted category.
  5. Submit the form online and immediately print the generated application.
  6. Paste a colored passport-size photograph on the printout and sign across it.
  7. Attach self-attested copies of your 10th/12th certificates, educational degrees, caste or PwBD certificates (if applicable), and any required experience letters.
  8. Label the envelope as "Application for the post of JUNIOR HINDI TRANSLATOR (Post code A0126 Advt.No.1/2026)".
  9. Send the completed set by Speed Post or Registered Post to the Controller of Administration, CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Post Office CIMAP, Lucknow - 226015, ensuring receipt by 5:30 PM on 06-03-2026.
