CSB Scientist Recruitment 2026 - Complete Details

Central Silk Board (CSB), under the Ministry of Textiles, is inviting online applications for permanent recruitment to the post of Scientist-B (Post-Cocoon Sector) with a total of 28 vacancies. This recruitment has been announced based on scores secured in GATE-2025 (conducted by IIT Roorkee) in the subject Textile Engineering & Fibre Science (TF).

Last date for submission of online application is 18-02-2026. This role involves scientific and technical responsibilities in Textile Engineering and Fibre Science, supporting research and development work in the silk sector.

Mode of Recruitment :

Selection process stages will include Shortlisting based on GATE Score 2025, Document Verification and Interview.

Eligible candidates must have appeared for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 exam Organised by IIT Roorkee for admission in Masters Programme in Textile Engineering & Fiber Science (TF).

Candidates will be allowed to take part in the Interviews only after successful completion of Document Verification. Date, time and venue of document verification & Interview will be intimated to candidates through e-mail. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the interview.

GATE score of any other subject or year or score of any other examination will not be considered.

Fee Structure :

Candidates belonging to Unreserved/EWS/OBC/Ex-Serviceman category are required to pay application fee of Rs 1000, through available online modes. SC/ST/PwBD and female candidates are not required to pay the application fee.

How to Apply :

Applications for the Scientist-B (Cocoon Sector) post in the Central Silk Board (CSB) can be submitted through online mode only. The application steps are mentioned below:

1. Fill the online application form carefully with the required details, including:
   1. Registration Number / Enrollment ID
   2. GATE-2025 Admit Card details
   3. Hall Ticket Number
   4. Payment details
   5. Ensure that the name and registration/admit card details are entered exactly as shown in the GATE-2025 admit card/score card to avoid rejection.
2. Pay the application fee, if applicable as per the category.
3. During the process, candidates will be required to upload a photograph and signature as per the following specifications:
   1. Recent passport size colour photograph: maximum 100KB, dimensions 45mm (H) × 35mm (W), JPEG format
   2. Scanned signature: maximum 100KB
4. Documents to be uploaded online include:
   1. Date of Birth proof (10th/Matriculation certificate)
   2. Essential Qualification marksheets/Degree (B.E./B.Tech in Textile Technology)
   3. Valid GATE-2025 Score Card (downloaded from IIT Roorkee website only)
   4. Category certificate (OBC/SC/ST/EWS), wherever applicable (Form-IV)
   5. PwBD certificate, if applicable (Form-V to Form-IX)
   6. Experience certificate, if any (Form-V)
   7. Age relaxation certificate for Government employees/PSU employees, if applicable
   8. Signed declaration for Govt./PSU candidates informing their Cadre Controlling Authority (CCA)
   9. Undertaking that no criminal proceedings are pending and the candidate is not disqualified under Central Government rules (Annexure IV)
   10. All required documents must be uploaded in PDF format only, with a maximum file size of 3MB.
5. After successful payment, if applicable, the completed application form can be downloaded for reference.
6. No document or printed copy is required to be sent to the Central Silk Board (CSB) by post or any other mode. However, a copy may be kept for future reference.
