| Project Description | This ICMR-funded project focuses on the molecular mechanisms of glycophagy—the selective autophagy of glycogen—in the context of diabetes-induced fatty liver. It aims to investigate how targeting the HSF1-STBD1 signaling axis can restore metabolic homeostasis and prevent lipid accumulation. The research explores how the starch-binding domain-containing protein 1 (STBD1) acts as a cargo receptor to facilitate glycogen degradation and how its regulation by Heat Shock Factor 1 (HSF1) impacts hepatic health. |
