Project DescriptionThis project focuses on protecting the unique plants of the Himalayan mountains by saving their seeds in a special national bank before they disappear forever. By collecting and testing seeds from rare plants, the research into environmental health aims to ensure that the natural beauty and medicine of the mountains are preserved for future generations. This project is funded by the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) to ensure that the Botanical Survey of India can guard our country's natural heritage. The goal is to provide a better treatment for our national biodiversity by creating a "Seed Atlas" that maps where these plants grow, helping the whole community enjoy a more stable and green mountain environment.
Duration
  • Junior Project Fellow (JPF) : 2 Years (convertible to SPF for 1 additional year)
  • Field Attendant (FA) : Duration: 3 Years

Qualification
  • Junior Project Fellow (05 Posts): First Class M.Sc. in Botany / Life Sciences / Plant Sciences / Ecology or equivalent and Minimum 1 year research experience
  • Field Attendant (07 Posts) : Bachelor’s Degree from recognized university Field experience in plant collection and Minimum 1 year research experience
Monthly Salary
  • Junior Project Fellow :
    • Noida (X City): ₹31,200/- pm (₹24,000 + 30% HRA)
    • Dehradun, Gangtok (Y City): ₹28,800/- pm (₹24,000 + 20% HRA)
    • Shillong, Itanagar (Z City): ₹26,400/- pm (₹24,000 + 10% HRA)
  • Field Attendant :₹14,475/- pm (Consolidated)
Age Limitmaximum 28 years
Selection ProcessInterviews will be held for candidates shortlisted initially on the basis of their academic qualifications.
