Bombay High Court calls for online applications for 15 regular posts of Stenographer (Lower Grade). Candidates must apply by 10-11-2025 after confirming they meet the eligibility criteria.

- Must possess a University Degree (Preference to Law Graduates).
- Should have passed English Shorthand Examination with speed of 80 w.p.m. or more.
- Should have passed English Typing Examination with speed of 40 w.p.m. or more (GCC/GCC-TBC/ITI).
- Should possess Computer proficiency certificate (Word Processor in Windows/Linux and MS Office etc.).
- Candidates with at least 3 years’ experience in Stenography may be considered even without a Degree.

Age Limit: 21 to 38 years for General (Open); up to 43 years for SC/ST/OBC/SBC candidates of Maharashtra; no upper limit for eligible Government/High Court employees.

Mode of Recruitment :
Selection process will be based on merit, determined through a three-stage evaluation comprising a Shorthand Test, a Typing Test, and a Viva-voce. The Shorthand Test and Typing Test will carry 40 marks each, while the Viva-voce will carry 20 marks. Candidates must obtain at least 20 marks each in the Shorthand and Typing Tests, and a minimum of 8 marks in Viva-voce to qualify. Final selection will be made on the basis of aggregate performance across all stages.
Fee Structure :
Candidates are required to pay examination fees of Rs 1000 through SBI Collect online payment gateway facility.

Based on their certifications, candidates need to properly fill out all of the fields in the online application, such as their name, father name, education, residence, and so on. A list of shortlisted candidates will be released after detailed review of received applications. Merit will be based on performance in three tests -
- Shorthand Test - 40 marks (Dictation and transcription; 500 words dictation in 5 mins, transcription in 30 mins)
- Typing Test - 40 marks (Typing 400 words in 10 mins)
- Viva-voce - 20 marks
- Minimum passing marks: Shorthand 24, Typing 20, Viva-voce - 08
