The Junior Engineer role involves technical and supervisory responsibilities related to planning, execution, and maintenance of engineering works as per departmental requirements. Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will consist of a written examination followed by document verification, conducted in the same order.

Stage 1: Written Examination and Experience Based Evaluation

The selection will be based on marks obtained in a Computer Based Test and marks awarded for relevant work experience. Merit will be prepared by calculating the combined marks of the written examination and experience, as per the prescribed rules.

Computer Based Test Objective type examination assessing technical competence related to the concerned Junior Engineer trade. 75 Marks
Work Experience Marks will be awarded for work experience on the post of Junior Engineer or equivalent post. Experience gained under Bihar Government or Bihar Government controlled undertakings, boards, corporations, authorities, or autonomous bodies will be considered. Experience obtained under Central Government or Central Government controlled undertakings, boards, corporations, authorities, or autonomous bodies located outside Bihar will also be considered. Maximum marks for experience will be calculated proportionately based on completed service days, with 365 days considered as one year. 25 Marks
Total 100 Marks
  • The question paper will consist of a total of 100 questions, all related to the concerned engineering trade, and the paper will be available in both Hindi and English languages.
  • The questions under the trade subject will be based on the AICTE prescribed curriculum prescribed for the three-year Diploma in the concerned engineering discipline.
  • The examination may be conducted through Computer Based Test mode and, if held in more than one shift, the examination results will be prepared by applying the normalization process.
  • Negative marking will be applicable, with 1 mark awarded for each correct answer and 0.25 mark deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • The normalization process (multiply by .75) will be applied to the marks obtained by all candidates on the basis of the written examination.
  • The marks obtained after normalization will be used for preparation of the merit list as per the applicable selection rules.

Stage 2: Document Verification

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of merit prepared after combining written examination marks and experience marks will be called for document verification. Original documents related to educational qualification, work experience, age, category, and other eligibility conditions will be verified by the competent authority. The period of work experience will be calculated up to 12-12-2025.

Final Merit List

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained by candidates after combining the normalized marks of the written competitive examination and the marks awarded for relevant work experience, as per the prescribed rules.

  • Written examination marks will carry a maximum weightage of 75 marks.
  • Work experience marks will carry a maximum weightage of 25 marks.
  • The merit list will be prepared category-wise in accordance with the applicable reservation norms.

Fee Structure :

Application fee is Rs 100 for all categories, to be paid through available online mode.

    • The photograph should clearly show the full face with a plain, light-colored background.
