Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has announced a Special Recruitment Drive for 984 permanent Grade C positions in various uniformed services, including Police and Fire departments. Eligible candidates are required to complete the online application process on or before 20-04-2026, after ensuring they meet all prescribed eligibility criteria.

The roles primarily focus on maintaining public safety, handling emergency situations, and performing specialized duties such as participation in departmental bands or protection of wildlife under the Special Tiger Protection Force. Selected candidates will be entrusted with responsibilities related to law enforcement, community security, and unit-specific operational or technical tasks.

Mode of Recruitment :

Selection Process

Selection process will consist of three stages - Stage-I (Objective Type Written Examination), Stage-II (Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Trade Test), and Stage-III (Medical Fitness Test).

Stage-I: Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions

The written examination will be conducted for a total of 200 marks with a duration of 2 hours. Candidates will have to secure a minimum of 33% marks in aggregate to qualify. There will be no negative marking.

Exam Centres

A candidate is required to select three examination centres, in order of preference, while filling out the online application form. The available centre options include Bomdila, Seppa, Pasighat, Aalo, Itanagar Capital Region, Papum Pare, Ziro, Tezu, Namsai, Changlang, Tawang, Khonsa, Roing, Longding, and Yingkiong.

Stage-II: Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Trade Test

Candidates for post codes 5/26 to 11/26 will have to qualify the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Candidates for post codes 5/26 and 6/26 will also have to qualify the Trade Test. Candidates will be shortlisted for Stage-II in a 1:3 ratio based on securing a minimum of 33% marks in aggregate in the written exam.

Ex-servicemen candidates will be exempted from PET and Trade Test, however, they will have to qualify the PST.

Stage-III: Medical Fitness Test

Candidates for post codes 5/26 to 10/26 will have to qualify the Medical Fitness Test as per required standards. Stage-II and Stage-III will be qualifying in nature only. The final merit will be prepared on the basis of merit-cum-preference in the objective type written examination.

Fee Structure :

Application fee is Rs 150 for APST candidates and Rs 200 for unreserved candidates. It is to be paid online.

How to Apply :

Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online by 20-04-2026, by following the process mentioned below -

  1. Complete the one-time registration on APSSB Portal process by providing a valid mobile number and email ID to generate login credentials.
  2. Log in to account and select the Combined Examination 2026 to start the application form.
  3. Fill in all required personal, educational, and contact details as per your official documents.
  4. Indicate your order of preference for the various posts available in the uniformed services.
  5. Upload a recent passport-size photograph and your signature as per prescribed specifications.
  6. Pay the application fee online using a credit card, debit card, or net banking. The fee is 150 for APST candidates and 200 for General candidates.
  7. Review the entire application form carefully and click on the submit button to finalize application.
  8. After successful submission, download and save a copy of the completed application form for personal records and future reference. No need to send hard copy to APSSB office at this stage. It will be required during document verification, along with other documents.
