Allahabad High Court is inviting online applications from eligible candidates for 195 permanent positions of Private Secretary (Grade I).   • This is a permanent post under the establishment of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad.

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will consist of three stages: Stage-I Examination, Stage-II Shorthand Dictation Test and Stage-III Interview.

Stage-I Examination

Stage-I of the examination will consist of three parts namely Part-A (General Studies), Part-B (Computer Knowledge Test) and Part-C (Translation Test). All three parts will be conducted in a single shift with a gap of 15 minutes between each part. Candidates will be shortlisted for Stage-II Examination in the ratio of ten times the total number of vacancies, on the basis of marks obtained in the Stage-I Examination in order of merit.

Marking Scheme for Stage 1 Parts
Part Marking Details
Part-A (General Studies)
  • Each correct answer will carry 02 marks.
  • There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • No marks will be given for unanswered or un-attempted questions.
  • If a question is found incorrect or ambiguous or has more than one answer during the Key Challenge, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers will be awarded the mark.
  • If a question is dropped due to technical mistake or any other reason, full marks will be awarded to all candidates.
Part-B (Computer Knowledge Test)
  • Marks will be deducted on each mistake (error).
  • Value of mistake (error): 01 mistake = 0.200 marks.
  • To be considered as full mistake (error) -
    • Left-out words and spelling mistakes
    • Error in punctuation, bold/italic
    • Mistake in justification in every line (Left, Right and Centre)
    • Mistake in phrasing of paragraph
    • Typing of letters, words, characters, symbols or anything other than the contents of the passage as asked in question paper
  • Extra words typed (after 500 words) will be deleted/ignored.
  • The evaluated copy will indicate number of mistakes made by the candidate and total marks awarded.
Part-C (Translation Test)
  • Marks will be deducted on each mistake (error).
  • Value of mistake (error): 01 mistake = 0.400 marks.
  • To be considered as full mistake (error) -
    • Left-out words, spelling mistakes
    • Typing of letters, words, characters, symbols or anything other than the contents of passage as asked in question paper
  • Words typed beyond the prescribed words limit will be deleted/ignored.
  • The evaluated copy will indicate number of mistakes made by the candidate and total marks awarded.

Stage-II (Shorthand Dictation Test)

Candidates will be shortlisted for Stage-II in the ratio of ten times the total number of vacancies, on the basis of marks obtained in Stage-I Exam. The dictation passage will contain approximately 500 words which will be dictated in 05 minutes. The required speed in English Shorthand will be 100 words per minute and in English typewriting will be 40 words per minute.

Marking Scheme for Shorthand Dictation Test:
  • To be considered as full mistake (error) -

    • Typing of letters, words, characters, symbols or anything other than the contents of passage as dictated
  • Marks will be deducted on each mistake (error).
  • Value of mistake (error): 01 mistake = 0.400 marks.

Stage-III Interview

Three times the number of candidates against the total number of vacancies in each category will be called for Stage-III Examination on the basis of the result of Stage-I and Stage-II Examinations in order of merit. Interview will carry 75 Marks.

Total marks of Stage-I and Stage-II will be 600 marks. Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in Stage-I, Stage-II and Stage-III Examination, making a total of 675 marks.

If two or more candidates secure equal marks, the candidate older in age will be placed higher in the final merit list.

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online through State Bank of India. Fee structure is as follows:

  • General (Unreserved) / OBC: Rs 1900
  • SC / ST / E.W.S (of Uttar Pradesh): Rs 1700

How to Apply :

Interested candidates can apply online for Allahabad HC Private Secretary Grade-I Recruitment Examination-2026 by following the steps given below. Applicants are advised to read all instructions carefully and keep the required documents ready before beginning the online application process.

  • Step 1: Registration (12-03-2026 to 01-04-2026)
    • Complete the online registration and submit the application form within the prescribed dates. After registration, note the system generated Registration Number / Application Number for future reference.
    • Candidates should submit only one application. In case multiple applications are submitted, only the last submitted application will be considered and the fee paid for earlier applications will not be refunded.
  • Step 2: Fill the Online Application Form
    • Login using the Registration / Application Number and fill in the complete online application form with the required details.
    • Enter the candidate’s name, mother’s name and father’s name exactly as mentioned in the Class X or equivalent certificate and write them in capital letters.
    • Enter the date of birth exactly as recorded in the Class X or equivalent certificate.
    • The registered email ID and mobile number should be entered carefully, as they cannot be changed later and all communication will be sent through them.
  • Step 3: Upload Required Documents
    • Upload a recent coloured passport size photograph with the applicant’s name and date of capture printed on the photograph; file size should be between 10 KB and 200 KB.
    • The photograph should clearly show at least 80% of the face without a mask and both ears should be visible against a light background. Polaroid or computer generated photographs will not be accepted.
    • Upload the candidate’s signature in running handwriting on white paper using a blue or black pen; file size should be between 10 KB and 100 KB.
    • Upload the left hand thumb impression (if the left thumb is unavailable, the right thumb may be used); file size should be between 10 KB and 200 KB.
    • Upload the category certificate wherever applicable; file size should be between 50 KB and 300 KB.
    • Upload the employment certificate wherever applicable (optional); file size should be between 50 KB and 300 KB.
    • Upload the Class X certificate as proof of date of birth; file size should be between 50 KB and 300 KB.
  • Step 4: Pay the Examination Fee
    • Pay the prescribed examination fee through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.
    • The last date for successful transaction of the application fee is 02-04-2026.
    • The application will be accepted only after successful payment of the prescribed fee.
  • Step 5: Final Submission and Confirmation Page
    • After successful submission of the application and payment of the fee, download the Confirmation Page.
    • Take printouts of the Confirmation Page and keep them safely for future reference.
    • At present, candidates are not required to send or submit the Confirmation Page of the Online Application Form to the National Testing Agency or the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad.
    • Keep proof of the fee payment for reference.
