| Project Description | This project focuses on addressing the "silent epidemic" of childhood Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) like Type 1 Diabetes, Childhood Obesity, Asthma, and Sickle Cell Disease across Maharashtra. In collaboration with UNICEF Maharashtra, AIIMS Nagpur has established a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to serve as a technical hub for early screening, diagnosis, and management. The initiative utilizes a hub-and-spoke model to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in 11 districts, including pilot programs in Bhandara and Wardha, focusing on capacity building for healthcare workers and robust data collection. This project is funded by UNICEF Maharashtra. |
