NABARD Recruitment 2026 - 162 Development Assistant Posts

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has invited online applications for permanent posts of Development Assistant and Development Assistant (Hindi) for a total of 162 vacancies. Interested candidates can submit their applications online up to 03-02-2026. Candidate must be able to translate from English to Hindi and vice-versa.
Knowledge of word processing on PC is required.

Mode of Recruitment :

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Language Proficiency Test.

Phase I – Preliminary Examination (Online)

The preliminary examination will be conducted online on 21-02-2026, and will be qualifying in nature. Marks obtained in this phase will not be counted for final merit.

Total duration of the preliminary examination will be 60 minutes. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Examination in the ratio of maximum 1:25, based on the cut-off decided by the Bank.

The main examination will be conducted online on 12-04-2026. Marks obtained in this phase will be considered for preparation of the final merit list.

Negative marking of one-fourth mark for each wrong answer will be applicable in Both tests (Prelims and Mains).

Language Proficiency Test

Candidates shortlisted for final selection will be required to appear for the Language Proficiency Test in the official language of the state applied for.

  • Candidates who have studied the local language in Class 10 or Class 12 will be exempted from this test after producing valid proof.
  • The test will be conducted at the regional office of the concerned state.
  • The Language Proficiency Test will be qualifying in nature.
  • Candidates failing to qualify this test will not be offered appointment.

Final Selection

State wise merit list will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the Main Examination only, subject to qualification in the Language Proficiency Test and verification of eligibility.

Tie Cases and wait list

  • Tie cases -
    • In case more than one candidate secures equal aggregate marks, the tie will be resolved using the following criteria in sequence
      • Higher educational qualification.
      • If the qualification is the same, higher marks obtained in graduation.
      • If graduation marks are also equal, the candidate of higher age will be given preference.
  • Wait List
    • A wait list of up to 50% of vacancies will be maintained on a state-category basis.
    • The wait list will be subject to a minimum of three candidates.
    • Candidates from the wait list will be considered only against non-joining of selected candidates.
    • The validity of the wait list will be one year from the date of approval of the select list by the Competent Authority or till declaration of the result of the next recruitment, whichever is earlier.

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -

  • SC / ST / PWBD: ₹100 (Intimation Charges only)
  • All Other Categories: ₹550 (₹450 Application Fee + ₹100 Intimation Charges)
  • Applicable GST will be charged extra as per rules.

How to Apply :

The online application process is to be done as per given step-by-step procedure :

  1. Application Registration
    • Candidates must apply online between 17-01-2026 and 03-02-2026.
    • Select the option for new registration to begin the application process.
    • Enter basic details such as name, contact number and email ID.
    • A provisional registration number and password will be generated and sent to the registered email ID and mobile number.
    • Candidates may use the “Save and Next” option to complete the form in multiple steps.
    • All details entered must exactly match the certificates and valid photo identity proof.
  2. Payment of Application Fee
    • Application fee must be paid through online mode only.
    • Payment can be made using debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS or mobile wallet.
    • After successful payment, an e-receipt will be generated.
    • If the e-receipt is not generated, the payment will be treated as failed and candidates must retry the payment.
    • Bank transaction charges, if any, will be borne by the candidate.
  3. Photograph & Signature Scan and Upload
    • Photograph must be a recent passport-size colour photo of 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm. Photograph file size must be between 20 KB and 50 KB, with Preferred dimensions 200 x 230 pixels.
    • Signature must be done on white paper using black ink, with file size between 10 KB and 20 KB. Signature in capital letters will not be accepted.
    • Left thumb impression and handwritten declaration must also be uploaded as per prescribed specifications.
    • A live photograph will also be captured and uploaded through webcam or mobile phone during the application process.
    • If uploaded images are unclear or incorrect, the application may be rejected.
  4. Help
    • In case of any problem in filling up the application form, payment of fee or download of call letter, candidates may raise queries through the IBPS grievance redressal system, at https://cgrs.ibps.in.
