UPSC Recruitment 2026 Examiner, Deputy Director 102 Posts Online Application
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited online applications for permanent posts, including 102 vacancies for post of Examiner of Trade Marks & Geographical Indications & Deputy Director (Examination Reforms, through Notic e 14/2025. About Posts and work profile :
- Examiner of Trade Marks & Geographical Indications is a permanent post involving statutory and quasi-judicial functions under intellectual property laws. The role includes examination of trademark and geographical indication applications, scrutiny of replies submitted by applicants, handling court and legal matters, and performing related administrative or quasi-judicial duties as directed by the competent authority.
- Deputy Director (Examination Reforms) is a permanent Group ‘A’ position responsible for assisting senior officers in examination reforms. The work profile covers syllabus revision, development of examination frameworks, preparation of academic and assessment material, and support in planning, administration, and implementation of examination-related reforms within the Commission.

Mode of Recruitment :
The selection process for these posts will consist of shortlisting of applications, a Recruitment Test (if conducted), and an Interview, in the order decided by the Commission.
Shortlisting of Applications
All applications will be screened based on the information provided by candidates in their online application forms. Shortlisting will be carried out by the Commission using criteria such as desirable qualifications, higher educational qualifications, higher relevant experience, or a combination of these factors. Mere fulfillment of essential qualifications will not automatically entitle a candidate to be called for the next stage.
Recruitment Test (If Conducted)
The Commission may conduct a Recruitment Test to restrict the number of candidates for interview if the number of applications is large. The Recruitment Test will be used as a screening mechanism and candidates will be required to secure the minimum level of suitability fixed by the Commission for their respective category to qualify for the interview stage.
Interview
Candidates shortlisted after screening or after the Recruitment Test will be called for an Interview. The interview will carry a total of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview will be 50 marks for UR category, 45 marks for OBC category, and 40 marks for SC, ST, and PwBD categories. Final selection will be based on performance in the interview or on combined performance in the Recruitment Test and Interview, as applicable.
