UPSC Recruitment 2026 Assistant Keeper, Senior Store Officer and Livestock Officer 16 Posts Online Application

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for 16 permanent positions, including Assistant Keeper, Senior Store Officer, and Livestock Officer.

These roles involve responsibilities in museum collection management, defence store operations, and livestock development. Applications must be submitted online by 1 May 2026.

Vacancies & Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification Pay Scale
Assistant Keeper (Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture) 01 (UR-01) maximum 30 years Educational: (i) Master's degree in Anthropology from a recognized University or Institute.
(ii) Diploma in Museology from a recognized University or Institute.
Desirable: At least one year experience of handling, maintaining and preserving specimens in a recognized museum.
Note: Qualifications are relaxable at discretion of UPSC for otherwise well qualified candidates. Experience: Desirable qualification includes one year experience. No mandatory experience mentioned.
Level-07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. Permanent post. Headquarters: Kolkata with All India Service Liability. Probation: 2 years. Governed by New Pension Scheme of 01-01-2004.
Senior Store Officer Grade-II (Defence Research and Development Organisation - DRDO, Ministry of Defence) 07 (UR-05, OBC-01, SC-01) (One vacancy reserved for PwBD candidates with B, LV, D, HH, BL, BA, OL, OA) maximum 35 years Educational: (A) (i) Master's Degree with Economics or Commerce or Statistics or Business Studies or Public Administration from a recognized University or Institute, OR
(ii) Bachelor's Degree in Economics or Commerce or Statistics or Business Studies or Public Administration as a subject from a recognized University or Institute;
(iii) Diploma in Materials Management or Warehousing Management or Purchasing or Logistics or Public Procurement from recognized University or Institute.
(B) Experience:
(i) Two years' experience, for applicants holding Master's Degree, in store keeping and maintaining stores accounts in Central/State Government/statutory/autonomous organisation/PSU/University/recognized institution/Banks/private sector organisation listed on Stock Exchanges of India;
(ii) Four years' experience, for applicants holding Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in prescribed field, in store keeping and maintaining stores accounts in same organizations.
Level-10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. Permanent post.
Livestock Officer (Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying) 08 (EWS-04, OBC-01, SC-02, ST-01) maximum 35 years Educational: (A)
(i) A Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry as listed in First Schedule and Second Schedule of Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (52 of 1984) from a recognised university or institution;
(ii) Registration in Veterinary Council of India or Veterinary Council of States.
(B) Experience:
Three years' experience in Cattle and Livestock Development or Animal Health or Poultry or Meat and Meat Products from Central/State Government/UT Administration/statutory organisation/autonomous bodies/institutes recognised by Government.
(C) Desirable: (i) Master's Degree in Veterinary Science from a recognized university or institute; or (ii) Two years' additional experience in Cattle and Livestock Development or Animal Health or Poultry or Meat and Meat Products from same organizations.
Level-10 plus NPA in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

Mode of Recruitment :

Candidates will be shortlisted based on details provided in their online applications. In case of a large number of applications, UPSC may adopt shortlisting criteria such as desirable qualifications, higher educational achievements, additional experience, or a recruitment test. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Minimum suitability marks in the interview are set at 50 for UR, 45 for OBC, and 40 for SC/ST/PwBD out of 100. For posts requiring both a recruitment test and interview, candidates must achieve minimum suitability marks at each stage.

Fee Structure :

The application fee is Rs. 25/- for male candidates belonging to UR, OBC, and EWS categories. Female candidates, SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted. Payment can be made through Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, or Internet Banking.

How to Apply :

Candidates are required to complete the online application process by following the step-by-step instructions given below.

  1. Visit the UPSC Online Application Portal and read the general instructions carefully.
  2. Create a Universal Registration Number (URN) by providing details including a Photo ID Card (Aadhaar Card recommended).
  3. Fill in the Common Application Form (CAF) with all required personal and educational details.
  4. Documents to be Uploaded:
    • Photograph (live photo capture)
    • Signature (three times on plain white paper with black ink)
    • Date of Birth proof (Matriculation/10th certificate)
    • Educational qualification certificates and mark sheets
    • Experience certificates (in prescribed proforma from Head of Organisation)
    • Caste certificate (if applicable)
    • OBC creamy layer declaration (if applicable)
    • Disability certificate (if applicable)
    • Any other relevant documents
  5. Pay the application fee of Rs. 25/- online, if applicable. SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates are exempted.
  6. Submit the completed online application. No corrections or withdrawals are allowed after submission. Take a printout of the submitted application for future reference.
  7. Candidates must produce this copy if called for interview.
  8. Submit the application by 01-05-2026 up to 18:00 Hrs.
  9. No printed copy of the application needs to be sent to UPSC. Candidates may keep one copy for their records.
