| Project Description | This research focuses on the molecular interactions between harmful bacteria and their plant hosts. It examines how specific proteins called TAL effectors from Xanthomonas bacteria manipulate plant DNA to cause disease. The study aims to identify the specific genes that the bacteria target to weaken the plant's natural defenses and promote infection. By understanding the diversity of these effectors, the work helps in developing crops that are more resistant to bacterial blight and other similar diseases. This research is funded by ANRF ARG. |
