Project DescriptionThis project focuses on forest rights governance, policy research, legal awareness, institutional coordination, and community engagement activities in Maharashtra. The project involves conducting rural field work, organising training and capacity building programs for government officials and Gram Sabha members, documenting field insights and case studies, and supporting implementation of forest rights related initiatives.

Qualification
  • Program Coordinator:
    • Master’s degree in Social Sciences or Law.
    • Knowledge of forest and land rights, forest laws, policies, and institutions.
    • Experience in community engagement work.
    • Ability to analyse and document policies, case laws, and field insights.
    • Ability to conduct independent rural field work.
    • Ability to coordinate with government and civil society groups in Maharashtra.
    • Ability to independently organise training and capacity building programs.
    • Basic skills in Excel, SPSS, GPS, and GIS.
    • Must be able to speak and write Marathi.
  • District-cum-Research Coordinators:
    • Master’s degree in Social Sciences or Law.
    • Knowledge of Forest Rights Act, forest laws, policies, and institutions.
    • Minimum 02 years of rural field experience.
    • Ability to coordinate with government and civil society groups at district and local levels in Maharashtra.
    • Ability to independently organise training and capacity building programs on forest rights and policies.
    • Ability to conduct independent rural field work and mentor village coordinators.
    • Good analytical and documentation skills with ability to write case studies from field insights.
    • Basic skills in Excel, SPSS, GPS, and GIS.
    • Must be able to speak and write Marathi.
Monthly SalaryProgram Coordinator: Rs. 60,000/- consolidated, District-cum-Research Coordinators: Rs. 50,000/- consolidated
