Project NameA multi-country, multi-centre, three-arm, parallel group, double-blind, placebo controlled, randomized trial of two doses of antenatal corticosteroids for women with a high probability of birth in the late preterm period (ACTION-III Trial)
Project DescriptionThis project focuses on saving newborn lives by studying how medicine given to mothers before a "late preterm" birth (34 to 36 weeks) can improve the baby's health. By conducting a large-scale randomized trial across several countries, the research into community health and maternal-fetal safety aims to determine if specific doses of corticosteroids can help a baby's lungs and organs develop better before they are born. 1 Project Research Scientist I vacancy at Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI)

Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for 1 post of Project Research Scientist I on fixed-term basis under a research project. Applications will be accepted up to 16-03-2026.

Post NameProject Research Scientist I
Project NameA Genome-wide transposon mutagenesis approach to identify Hypervirulence-associated genes and live attenuated vaccine candidates for combatting Mycobacterium Orygis-associated Tuberculosis
Project DescriptionThis project focuses on finding new ways to stop Mycobacterium orygis, a specific type of bacteria that causes tuberculosis (TB) in both animals and humans. By using a "transposon mutagenesis" approach—which involves systematically "switching off" different genes in the bacteria's DNA—the research into community health and pathogen safety aims to identify which genes make this bacteria so dangerous (hypervirulent). This project is funded by BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) to ensure that our nation leads the way in developing "live attenuated vaccines" (weakened versions of the bacteria) that can train the immune system to fight TB. The goal is to provide a better treatment for our national health standards by uncovering the secrets of bacterial survival, helping the whole community enjoy a more stable and healthy future.
