Project DescriptionThis research examines how biological clocks and gut bacteria influence brain health during long-term infections. It focuses on the parasite Toxoplasma gondii and how it disrupts the communication between the immune system and the nervous system. The study aims to find out how the timing of body processes and the presence of certain microbes can lead to brain inflammation or dysfunction. By understanding these drivers, the work helps in finding new ways to treat chronic infections that affect behavior and mental health. This research is funded by ANRF.

  • M.Sc./M.Tech in Immunology/Neurology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Life Sciences/Microbiology/Molecular Biology or any other related field of Life Sciences from recognized university.
  • Desired: experience in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry; proficient in cloning techniques
Monthly SalaryRs. 20,000/- per month plus 30% HRA (As per funding agency norms/DST OM dated 10-07-2020)

Selection ProcessThe selection process will involve preliminary shortlisting based on academic qualifications, followed by interviews of the shortlisted candidates.

Project DescriptionThis research focuses on the advancement of cancer diagnostics and targeted therapies. It aims to achieve a deeper understanding of how specific proteins, known as histone demethylases, communicate with the genes responsible for repairing DNA. When these interactions are disrupted, it can lead to tumor growth. The study looks for unique genetic patterns that can help doctors detect cancer early and choose the best treatment for each individual patient. This research is funded by ICMR.

  • Post Graduate Degree in Biological Sciences including integrated PG degrees as per ICMR norms.
  • Desirable: PhD degree in any field of Biological Sciences with a research publication.
  • Required experience: molecular biology, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, epigenetics (ChIP-seq and DNA methylation profiling); handling of mammalian cell lines and advanced cell culture techniques including patient-derived organoids.
