Project NameRepurposing and Validating the FDA-approved UDP-Glucose Ceramide Glucosyltransferase (UGCG) Inhibitor ā€œEliglustatā€ as a Potential Intervention for Breast and Oral Cancer Immunotherapy
Project DescriptionThis project aims to use advanced science to develop "next-generation" immunotherapy by validating how Eliglustat changes the way cancer cells interact with the immune system. The research team is working hard to conduct a comprehensive study using T-cell activation assays and nanoparticle synthesis to build a scientific record of the drug's effectiveness. This research is funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to support the development of next-generation tools for the nation's medical sector. Through this medical research into biological behavior, the team hopes to provide a better treatment for information gaps by identifying exactly how this UGCG inhibitor can help the body naturally destroy breast and oral cancer cells.
DurationInitially for one year or project duration (whichever is shorter), extendable based on performance and project need.

Qualification
  • First-class postgraduate degree (M.Sc./M.Tech) in Life Sciences/Chemical Sciences with a good academic record. M.Sc.
  • candidates must have qualified a National Level Eligibility Test (NET/GATE, etc.).
  • Minimum of 2 years of research experience.
Monthly SalaryRs 56,000 per month + 30% HRA
Selection ProcessOn the basis of interviews to be held after initial shortlisting based on academic qualifications.

Project DescriptionThis project focuses on studying how the genes in newborn babies change when they are fighting a serious blood infection called sepsis. By identifying tiny molecular and immune signals in the body, the medical research into neonatal health aims to find better ways to catch this illness early and save lives. This project is funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India to ensure that our hospitals have the best tools to protect the smallest and most vulnerable patients. The goal is to provide a better treatment for our national healthcare by creating new strategies for diagnosis, helping the whole community see more babies grow up healthy and strong.

  • For SRF: Master’s degree in Biological/Life Sciences with 2 years of research experience.
  • For JRF: Master’s degree in Biological/Life Sciences.
Monthly Salary
  • SRF: ₹42,000 per month + 27% HRA
  • JRF: ₹37,000 per month + 27% HRA
Selection ProcessCandidates will be shortlisted initially on the basis of academic qualifications, followed by an interview.
