About this Job Notification

1 Project Assistant vacancy at National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG)

Eligible candidates may apply for 1 contractual post of Project Assistant at National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) under a research project. The closing date for receipt of applications is 03-04-2026.

Post NameProject Assistant
Project NameInvestigating the Gut Microbiome and Host Epigenomic Profiles in Preterm Stunted Infants at 6 months of Age in a Low to Mid Socioeconomic Neighborhood of North India
Project DescriptionThis NIBMG-funded project addresses a critical health challenge in North India by examining the biological drivers of growth failure in infants. The research focuses on preterm stunted infants at 6 months of age, exploring the complex interaction between their gut microbiome and host epigenomic profiles. By studying children from low to mid socioeconomic neighborhoods, the project aims to understand how environmental factors and microbial colonization influence gene expression related to growth and development. This study is vital for identifying biological markers of stunting, which could lead to targeted nutritional or therapeutic interventions to improve long-term health outcomes for vulnerable infants.

1 Project Research Scientist III vacancy at National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG)

National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for 1 post of Project Research Scientist III on fixed-term basis under a research project. Applications will be accepted up to 03-04-2026.

Post NameProject Research Scientist III
Project NameTranslational Decoding of TCR-Neoantigen Dynamics in Oral Precancerous Lesions Progression towards Frank Cancer: Integrating Spatial Sequencing and AI for Early Prediction Biomarker Development.
Project DescriptionThis NIBMG-funded project focuses on the critical transition of oral health from precancerous lesions to frank cancer. The research involves a sophisticated translational decoding of the relationship between T-cell receptors (TCR) and neoantigens within the tumor microenvironment. By integrating Spatial Sequencing—which maps gene activity in a tissue sample while providing its exact location—and Artificial Intelligence, the study aims to identify the specific cellular dynamics that drive malignancy. The ultimate goal is the development of early prediction biomarkers that can accurately forecast cancer progression, allowing for life-saving clinical interventions at the earliest possible stage.
DurationInitially for one year, extendable depending upon performance, availability of funds and requirements of the project
