NGRI Recruitment 2025 Security Assistant 1 Post Online Application

Mode of Recruitment :

No fee is payable for SC/ST/Women/Ex-Servicemen subject to uploading of relevant document.

NGRI Recruitment 2025 Junior Secretariat Assistant and Junior Stenographer 4 Posts Online Application

National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) is inviting eligible candidates to apply online for 4 permanent posts of Junior Secretariat Assistant and Junior Stenographer. Applications must be submitted by 30-06-2025 after confirming the eligibility criteria.

Mode of Recruitment :

The recruitment process includes an open competitive written examination consisting of two papers: Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-II will be evaluated only for those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I, as determined by the Selection Committee.

The examination will be conducted either in OMR-based or computer-based mode and will comprise objective-type multiple-choice questions. The questions will be provided in both English and Hindi, except for those related to the English language section. The level of the examination will be equivalent to Class XII standard.

Total Number of Questions: 200

Total Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes (2 hours 50 minutes for candidates eligible for scribe)

Paper-I

Duration: 90 minutes

Typing Test / Skill Test Norms on Computer

Candidates will be required to undergo an English or Hindi typing test depending on the medium they selected during the online application process. The chosen medium of the typing test is final and cannot be changed later.

Typing speed requirements are as follows:

  • English Typing: 35 words per minute (equivalent to 10500 key depressions per hour)
  • Hindi Typing: 30 words per minute (equivalent to 9000 key depressions per hour)

 

Merit List Preparation

  • The written examination consists of two papers, where Paper-I is qualifying in nature.
  • Only candidates who meet the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I will have their Paper-II evaluated.
  • The typing skill test is also qualifying in nature.
  • The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-II among those who qualify the typing test.

Minimum qualifying marks for Paper-I for each category will be announced on the official website of CSIR-NGRI before the examination.

Scheme for the Post of Junior Stenographer

Written Examination

The examination will be either OMR-based or computer-based, comprising multiple-choice objective-type questions. The questions will be in English and Hindi except for the English language section. The standard of the examination is equivalent to 10+2/XII.

Total Questions: 200

2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for candidates eligible for scribe)

The paper will consist of three parts as detailed in the official notification.

Proficiency Test in Stenography

Candidates who meet all eligibility conditions as recommended by the Screening Committee will be invited for a proficiency test in stenography. This test will be qualifying in nature, and only candidates who pass it will be considered for inclusion in the final merit list.

During the skill test, one dictation will be given for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as per the candidate’s selection). The transcription timings are:

Fee Structure :

The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen are exempted from payment of application fee. Candidates are required to remit the application fee of Rs.500/- in favour of "Director, CSIR-NGRI" through online payment system only viz., SB Collect.

Candidates should complete an online application by entering all of their personal and educational information in the appropriate places, as indicated by their certificates. Applicants must upload a digitized photo and signature in the online application at the appropriate place. A printout of an online application should be kept for future reference..
