Project DescriptionThis deep-tech project, sanctioned under the DISHA 2.0 (Developing Innovations for Successful Harnessing and Adoption) initiative by IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation, focuses on bridging the gap between clinical prototypes and market-ready medical devices. The project involves developing a Cyber-Physical System (CPS) based scanner designed for real-time, non-invasive monitoring of surgical implants (such as orthopedic plates, cardiac stents, or dental implants). By utilizing advanced sensors and diagnostic algorithms, the scanner aims to detect early signs of implant failure, infection (biofilm formation), or abnormal mechanical stress, significantly reducing the risk of revision surgeries.

Project DescriptionThis ANRF-funded project tackles one of the most persistent hurdles in thin-film photovoltaics: the Staebler-Wronski Effect (SWE). Primarily observed in hydrogenated amorphous silicon and related inorganic thin films, SWE causes a significant drop in photoconductivity and conversion efficiency upon prolonged exposure to sunlight. The research focuses on developing mitigation strategies—such as atomic-level doping, hydrogen dilution, or the use of nanocrystalline silicon buffers—to stabilize the material's atomic network and prevent the light-induced creation of "dangling bond" defects.
Duration3 years (JRF for first 2 years, SRF for third year) – purely on temporary basis
