Post NameProject Research Scientist, Project Technical Support (Department of Microbiology)
Project NameMetagenomic Profiling of the Gut Microbiome in Guillain-Barré Syndrome: Identifying Dysbiosis and Potential Biomarkers
Project DescriptionThis project focuses on studying the trillions of tiny bacteria living in the gut (microbiome) to understand how they might be linked to Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), a condition that affects the body's nerves. By using "Metagenomic Profiling," the research into community health and molecular biology aims to find specific patterns or "biomarkers" in the gut that could help doctors diagnose GBS earlier or treat it better. This project is funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi to ensure that our nation leads the way in using advanced DNA technology to solve complex medical mysteries. The goal is to provide a better treatment for our national health standards by identifying "dysbiosis" (imbalance in gut bacteria) through Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), helping the whole community enjoy a more stable and healthy future.
