Project DescriptionThis project focuses on the introduction of resilient crop varieties to enhance regional nutrition and agricultural diversity. It aims to achieve the domestication and popularization of selected less known edible plants from Mexico to bolster the food security of Kerala. The research explores how these exotic species can adapt to the tropical climate of South India. This study is conducted at the University of Kerala and is sponsored by the Centre for Latin American Studies.

  • Essential: M.Sc in Botany/Any subjects equivalent to M.Sc. Botany.
  • Desirable:
    • 1. NET/GATE,
    • 2. Knowledge in nursery maintenance and plant propagation.
