Project DescriptionThis project focuses on advanced tissue engineering solutions for repairing jawbone defects. The research involves creating shape-memory PLA (Polylactic Acid) scaffolds that can adapt to the complex geometry of alveolar bone voids. To enhance biological integration, these scaffolds are functionalized with a decellularized extracellular matrix (ECM) derived from osteoblasts, providing the necessary biochemical cues for bone growth. The study utilizes a translational minipig model to evaluate the scaffold's efficacy in a clinical-like setting. This project is funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
