Lucknow based CSIR constituent unit Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR) is inviting online applications for recruitment of 03 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and 03 Driver positions. These are permanent vacancies with a two-year probation period. Last date for the submission of online applications is 19-02-2026 (05:00 PM).

Candidates must thoroughly check their eligibility compliance before applying. The work profile for MTS involves general office upkeep, record maintenance, and assisting in R&D activities, while Drivers are responsible for safely transporting personnel and materials in both light and heavy motor vehicles.

Vacancies & Eligibility Criteria:

Driver 03 (UR-01, EWS-01, SC-01) 27 Years 10th standard pass with a valid driving license for LMV & HMV. Must have knowledge of motor mechanism and at least 3 years of experience driving a motor car.

Level 2 (Rs. 19,900 - 63,200)

Approx. Rs. 37,600/- per month.

Notes :
  • Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC (NCL) only for reserved posts. PwBD candidates get 10 years relaxation (up to 15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC). Widows and divorced women get relaxation up to 35 years (40 years for SC/ST). Ex-servicemen get 3 years relaxation after deducting military service.
  • These are permanent posts with a probation period of two years.
  • Candidates must have declared final results on or before 19-02-2026.
  • Candidates can apply for both posts, but must pay the application fee of Rs. 500 separately for each post.

Mode of Recruitment :

Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)

Applications received will be screened in detail, and shortlisted candidates will be called for a Trade Test, followed by a Competitive Written Examination.

The Trade Test will assess the candidate’s practical knowledge related to the nature of the job and job requirements. The Selection Committee will decide the mode of the Trade Test, and the same will be notified to shortlisted candidates in advance. Candidates who qualify in the Trade Test will be invited to appear for the Competitive Written Examination (CWE).

Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in Competitive Written Exam. Minimum qualifying marks in written test will be decided later.

Driver

All applications will be examined carefully, and eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill Test (qualifying). Candidates who qualify in the Skill Test will be called to appear in the Competitive Written Examination.

Final merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured in Competitive Written Exam.

For both posts (MTS & Driver), if two or more candidates secure the same total marks, the tie will be decided in the following sequence.

  1. Candidate with fewer negative marks in the written examination will be ranked higher.
  2. Older candidate will be placed higher in merit.
  3. Candidate who acquired the essential qualification earlier will be placed higher.
  4. If still unresolved, ranking will be decided in alphabetical order of first names.

For both posts, Written Examination and Trade/Skill Test will be held in Lucknow.

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -

  • General / OBC / EWS Candidates: ₹ 500
  • Fee Exempted categories - SC / ST / PwBD Women Ex-Servicemen
  • As stated earlier, Candidates may apply for both posts; however, the application fee must be paid separately for each post.

How to Apply :

Candidates must apply online for IITR Lucknow MTS, Driver Recruitment 2026 by following the steps below:

  1. Candidates must fill in all details related to age, qualification, and personal information carefully, as no edits will be allowed after final submission.
  2. Candidates must also pay the applicable application fee. After payment, candidates must enter the payment details (Receipt Number / Challan Number) at the designated place in the online application before final submission.
  3. Candidates must upload their photograph and signature in the specified format:
    1. Photograph Requirements:
      1. Format: JPEG
      2. File size: Between 100 KB and 500 KB
      3. Dimensions: 3.5 cm (width) × 4.5 cm (height)
      4. Face: Full face view, occupying approximately 40% of the image
      5. Photo must be recent (not older than three months from the exam notification date)
      6. No cap or spectacles should be worn
      7. Both ears should be visible
      8. Blurred, fake, fabricated, or selfie photographs will be summarily rejected
    2. Signature Requirements:
      1. Signature must be in CAPITAL LETTERS (otherwise it will not be accepted)
      2. Format: JPEG
      3. File size: Between 40 KB and 200 KB
      4. Dimensions: Approximately 5.0 cm (width) × 3.0 cm (height)
      5. Signature must be clear and legible
      6. “Miniature” or illegible signatures will be rejected
  4. Upload documents as a single PDF (whichever is applicable):
    1. 10th/SSC Marksheet & Certificate (Mandatory)
    2. 12th/HSC or Equivalent Marksheet & Certificate (If applicable)
    3. Other Qualification Certificate/Diploma Marksheet & Degree Certificate (If applicable)
    4. NOC from present employer (If applicable)

  5. Upload other documents separately wherever required:

  7. No printout needs to be sent to CSIR-IITR Lucknow at this stage. However, candidates may keep one copy of the submitted application for future reference.
