Project NameMicrostructure-Texture-Property Correlation in Zr-Nb and Zr-Sn Alloys Processed by Warm-rolling
Project DescriptionThis project focuses on studying how the internal structure and patterns of zirconium alloys change when they are rolled at warm temperatures. By looking at how the atoms are arranged in Zr-Nb and Zr-Sn metals, the medical research into structural health aims to understand how to make these materials stronger and more reliable for important engineering tasks. This project is funded by the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS) to ensure that our national materials are prepared for high-performance use. The goal is to provide a better treatment for our metal processing techniques by finding the perfect balance between the metal's texture and its strength, helping the whole community benefit from safer and more durable technology.
Duration3 years (extendable up to 1 additional year based on performance)

Qualification
  • B.E./B.Tech. in Metallurgical/Ceramics/Mechanical/Production Engineering/Nanoscience & Technology with valid GATE score
  • B.Tech. from CFTIs (IITs, NITs, IISc, IISERs & CFTIs) in relevant disciplines with CGPA minimum 8.0 (GATE not required)
  • M.E./M.Tech. in Metallurgical/Ceramic/Materials/Mechanical (Design/Manufacturing)/Production Engineering/Nanoscience & Technology
Monthly Salary
  • Rs. 37,000/month for first 2 years (JRF)
  • Rs. 42,000/month for 3rd year (SRF)
Age Limit
  • maximum 28 years
  • relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH as per GoI norms
