1 Junior Research Fellow (Department Mechanical Engineering) vacancy at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology Shibpur (IIEST Shibpur)
Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology Shibpur (IIEST Shibpur) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for 1 post of Junior Research Fellow (Department Mechanical Engineering) on fixed-term basis under a research project. Applications will be accepted up to 16-02-2026.

| Project Name | Development of nano- ceramic particle- reinforced Nickel- based superalloy matrix composites through laser additive manufacturing for aerospace applications |
| Project Description | This project focuses on making extremely strong metal parts for airplanes and rockets by mixing tiny ceramic particles into a special nickel-based metal. By using a powerful laser to build these parts layer by layer, the medical research into structural health aims to create materials that can handle the intense heat of a jet engine. This research is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India under the PAIR Network to ensure that the nation can build its own high-tech aerospace components. The goal is to provide a better treatment for our national aviation technology by proving that nano-sized reinforcements can make engines run better and last longer, helping the whole community benefit from safer and more efficient air travel. |
