Kolkata based CSIR Unit Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB) is inviting online applications for permanent recruitment to 08 posts of Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). The last date for submission of applications is 04-04-2026 (05:00 PM). The job role involves routine support duties such as maintenance of records, cleanliness of office sections, file handling, and assisting in day-to-day administrative work as assigned by superior officials.

Mode of Recruitment :

Selection process will be based on performance in a Written Examination, which will be conducted in objective-type multiple choice format (OMR based or Computer Based). Questions will be set in both English and Hindi, except for the English Language section.

The standard of the exam will be Class X level. A total of 150 questions will be asked and the total time allotted will be 2 hours. Each question will carry 3 marks, while each wrong answer will cause a penalty of 1 mark.

Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the written exam. In case of a tie in scores, the merit will be decided by applying the following criteria in order of preference:

• Older candidate by date of birth will be placed higher.
• If the tie still persists, the candidate who acquired the essential qualification earlier will be placed higher.
• If the tie still persists, alphabetical order of first names will be considered.

Before the issue of the offer of appointment, candidates will be required to undergo detailed document verification, where they must produce all original documents.

Fee Structure :

No Application fee is to be paid by Women/SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates. All others need to Pay Rs 500 as application fee, through online mode.

How to Apply :

1. Registration on the CSIR-IICB portal using a valid email ID and password is required.
2. After login, primary registration details should be filled. Primary details, once submitted, cannot be changed further.
3. The relevant post(s) should be selected, followed by completion of education, employment, and other required details. The vacancy code for this MTS recruitment is 6152601.
4. Application fee (Rs. 500, if applicable) is to be paid through SBI Collect:
   • Select "Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (West Bengal)"
   • Choose "Application Fee MTS"
   • Enter the required details and complete the payment
   • Download and retain the e-receipt
5. Documents and certificates are to be uploaded:
   1. SBI fee payment e-receipt / transaction proof (if applicable)
   2. Recent passport-size photograph
   3. Candidate signature
   4. 10th certificate (Date of Birth proof)
   5. Gazette/Affidavit (in case of name mismatch/change)
   6. Educational certificates and mark sheets
   7. If applicable:
      1. Experience certificates
      2. Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD)
      3. OBC declaration form
      4. NOC (for government employees)
6. The complete form should be reviewed carefully. Final submission of the application form is to be done on or before 04-04-2026 (05:00 PM).
7. A copy of the submitted form should be downloaded and kept for future reference.
8. In case of multiple submissions, only the latest valid application will be considered, and the fee will not be refunded for earlier applications.
