Project DescriptionThis project focuses on the advancement of stellar astrophysics and interstellar medium studies. It aims to achieve a deep understanding of stellar stochasticity—the random variations in stellar properties—and how these fluctuations leave a measurable mark on the surrounding cosmic dust. This research is funded by ANRF.
DurationInitially for one year (extendable annually for one and half years (Total two and half years) based on performance and requirement of project or co-terminus with project completion)

Qualification
  • M.Sc Degree in Physics/Astrophysics/Astronomy/Applied Physics with minimum 60% aggregate mark AND
  • Ph.D. in Physics/Astronomy/Astrophysics from recognized University.
  • For M.Sc degree candidates: four years research experience in Physics/Astronomy/Astrophysics in reputed University/Industry/Research Organization.
  • Desirable: Experience in computational stellar physics; expertise in stellar evolution; skills in high-performance computing; experience in applying machine learning methods to scientific research using hybrid (CPU-GPU) computing strategies; at least one first author publication necessary.
Monthly SalaryRs. 57,000/- per month + applicable HRA
