1 Project Associate I vacancy at Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS)

Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) invites applications from eligible candidates for filling 1 post of Project Associate I on fixed-term basis under a research project. Applications must be submitted on or before 06-03-2026.

Post NameProject Associate I
Project NameCharacterizing infinite torsion subgroups of the circle via arithmetic type sequences
Project DescriptionThis project focuses on studying special points on a circle that follow predictable, repeating patterns like the ticking of a clock. By using "arithmetic type sequences"—which are specific lists of numbers that follow a strict rule—the research into national science and mathematical logic aims to describe how these infinite groups of points behave when they are rotated. This project is funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) to ensure that our nation remains a leader in the study of abstract mathematical structures. The goal is to provide a better treatment for our national research standards by discovering new ways to categorize these complex patterns, helping the whole community enjoy a more stable and technologically advanced future.
DurationInitially for 6 months, extendable up to 1 year subject to continuation of the project and recommendation of the PI
