It aims to achieve the development of a farm-scale decision support system specifically for the unique agro-ecologies of the North-Western Himalaya. The research explores integrated data on soil, climate, and crop patterns to provide farmers with actionable insights for better yield and resource conservation. This study is supported by NHMS funding.

Qualification
  • Junior Research Fellow (NET Qualified) / Junior Project Fellow (Non-NET) (01 Post) : First Class Master degree in Meteorology/ Geology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Agrometeorology/ Computer Science/ Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing and GIS from recognized university.
    • Desirable: Experience in weather forecasting and analysis; working with meteorological instruments; crop yield forecasting using climate data; programming; data analysis; machine learning; AI; field surveys; physically fit to work in Himalayan region.
  • Field Assistant (01 Post) : Bachelor degree in Science/ Commerce/ Humanities.
    • Desirable: research experience in Indian Himalayan Region.
Monthly Salary
  • Junior Research Fellow (NET Qualified) : Rs. 37,000/month + HRA
  • Junior Project Fellow (Non-NET Qualified) : Rs. 24,000/- per month + HRA
  • Field Assistant : Rs. 20,000 + HRA per month
Age Limit
  • JRF/JPF: maximum 28 years
  • Field Assistant: maximum 35 years
Selection ProcessCandidates will be shortlisted in the first stage on the basis of their academic qualifications. The shortlisted candidates will then be called for an interview, which will determine the final selection.

    • Desirable: GATE/NET qualified; proficiency in RS/GIS applications (SWAT, SWAT-CUP, HEC-HMS, ArcMap, ERDAS Imagine); data analysis tools (Python, RStudio); proven publication record
  • Junior Project Fellow (JPF) (02 Posts) : B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering/Civil Engineering OR M.E./M.Tech./Master's degree in Hydrology/Soil & Water Conservation Eng./Water Resource Eng./Environmental Engineering/RS & GIS/Geoinformatics/Environmental Science.
    • Desirable: research experience in digital and field data acquisition; knowledge of RS-GIS applications, Python, R, DBMS, statistical tools; hydrological processes simulation and modelling; land restoration models; experience working in IHR.
Monthly Salary
  • Research Associate – I (RA) : Rs. 58,000 + HRA (Rs. 61,000 + HRA after 2 years as per rules)
  • Junior Project Fellow (JPF) : Rs. 24,000 + HRA (Rs. 28,000 + HRA after 2 years as per rules)

  • JPF: maximum 28 years
