Chennai based establishment of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR)-Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) is inviting online applications for 13 permanent posts of Junior Stenographer, Junior Secretariat Assistant, and Multi-Tasking Staff. Last date to submit the online application is 02-03-2026.

CSIR-CLRI is the central hub in Indian Leather Sector with direct roles in Education, Research, Training, Testing, Designing, Forecasting, Planning, Social empowerment and leading in Science & Technology relating to Leather. The roles involve clerical assistance, office administration, record handling, typing/stenography work, and routine institutional support functions.

Qualification Equivalency
  • A Diploma of three-year duration, obtained after passing the 10th Standard, shall be treated as equivalent to the 12th (10+2 / XII) Standard for posts where 10+2 is prescribed as the essential qualification.
  • For the post of JSA (F&A), Accountancy must be included as a subject in the Diploma course for it to be considered equivalent.

Other Eligibility Conditions

  • Appearing / Results awaited candidates are not eligible to apply. Educational qualification must be completed on or before 02-03-2026.
  • No domicile / local language requirement. Candidates from all states are eligible.
  • Typing or stenography proficiency is mandatory for applicable posts.

Mode of Recruitment :

The selection process will comprise of a Competitive Written Examination and Proficiency Test (for Junior Stenographer & JSA Posts).

Final Selection

  • Multi-Tasking Staff & Junior Stenographer: Final merit list will be prepared based on written examination marks.
  • Junior Secretariat Assistant: Final merit list will be prepared based on Paper II marks only.
  • Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of 2 years.

Fee Structure :

Applicable application fee is to be paid online. Fee structure is -

  • General / OBC / EWS candidates: Rs. 500 per post code
  • Women / SC / ST PwBD / Servicemen: Nil

How to Apply :

Candidates can apply online by following the steps given below:

  1. Registration -
    1. Eligible candidates must apply online only through the CSIR–Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) recruitment system.
    2. The email ID used during registration must remain active throughout the entire recruitment process.
    3. Applicants must register using their basic personal details as required on the portal. After successful registration, candidates must log in using the provided credentials.
    4. Fill in personal details such as name, date of birth, and parents’ name exactly as mentioned in the Matriculation / 10th certificate.
    5. Enter educational qualification details correctly and ensure all required fields are completed.
    6. Candidates must upload the following documents where applicable:
      • Recent passport size colour photograph
      • Signature
      • Application fee receipt (if applicable)
      • Aadhaar Card
      • Matriculation / Secondary certificate or Birth certificate as proof of date of birth
      • 10th class mark sheet or certificate (mandatory)
      • 12th class mark sheet or equivalent qualification certificate (if applicable)
      • Gazette notification or affidavit for name change or name mismatch (if applicable)
      • Caste or category certificate in prescribed format (if applicable)
      • No Objection Certificate and Vigilance Certificate (if applicable)
      • PwBD certificate in prescribed format (if applicable)
      • Relevant certificate for widow, divorced, or judicially separated women (if applicable)
      • Ex-servicemen certificate and discharge book along with prescribed proforma (if applicable)
      • Any other document supporting claims made in the application
  2. Fee -
    1. Candidates applying under fee-paying categories must pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500 for each post code applied.
    2. The application fee must be paid online only through the SB Collect payment system, as shown -

    4. The SBI Collect e-receipt generated after payment must be uploaded in the application portal.
    5. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, Women, and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from payment of application fee, subject to uploading valid documents.
  3. Final submission -
    1. After filling all details, candidates must review the application carefully before final submission.
    2. Once the application is finally submitted, no correction, modification, or withdrawal will be allowed.
    3. Candidates should not send the hard copy of the application form to CSIR–Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) at this stage. Candidates may keep a printed copy of the submitted application form and payment details for future reference.
    4. Only one application per post code will be accepted from a candidate.
