| Project Name | Evaluation of genomic prediction models for growth trait: A step towards implementation of genomic selection in rohu |
| Project Description | This project focuses on using "DNA maps" to find the healthiest and fastest-growing rohu fish for farming. By studying the tiny genetic codes that control how big a fish grows, the research into community health and food security aims to help farmers produce more food using fewer resources. This project is funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) to ensure that our nation’s aquaculture industry is modern and productive. The goal is to provide a better treatment for our national fishing standards by using molecular science to improve breeding programs, helping the whole community enjoy a more stable and healthy future. |
